Loved this interview and the previous one w Terry. As a biz, 45's and wax is a niche, a promotional tool, and can definitely play out as a sort of pilot. When it comes to Oldies, ita almost irrelevant if it dont press wax, and 45’s are still cherished more than an LP. As a biz, the label and Artist can get a whole lot more return than digitally. Thats the advantage with Oldies, the market thrives an a very old school physical relationship with music versus being stuck in the digital box. In the Oldies genre, the only real LP formats that are hitting, are the compilations, an essential part of the culture. And I absolutely agree, promo 45’s for stores and select Radio DJs, promoters and influential collectors etc. in advance of release goes a long way! Musch more can be said but good damn interview.
