I think that being able to close these wet markets is wishful thinking. It's so ingrained in their culture and Chinas economy has benefited greatly from this pandemic. While the rest of the countries economies weaken, Chinas grows. By 2030, 9 short years, China is projected to be the world's leading economy. Asian countries HAVE to regulate animal markets better. It’s insane how disgusting those places can be and it’s shocking to know that people actually buy from them knowing how disgusting it is. It would serve those countries better to open up factories for raising and harvesting animals. Many of those animals shouldn’t even be sold. It’s ridiculous the reality that they live in. The laboratory that’s breeding bats, that may be a great idea and all, but surely there are going to be a lot of viruses they aren’t going to be exposed to with not being with other animals. If all these SELLERS have to have something to sell but are told they must stop selling wild animals they will still have to sell them. But if all people have a UBI worldwide then they will be able to survive even though they can’t sell things like bats. The UBI is the key to stop the spread of many diseases. If all these SELLERS have to have something to sell but are told they must stop selling wild animals they will still have to sell them. But if all people have a UBI worldwide then they will be able to survive even though they can’t sell things like bats. The UBI is the key to stop the spread of many diseases. (Although I’d rather redistribute money equally worldwide, but how?) Its the same for a furniture or car salesman who only gets paid by commission, if he sells something, and he’s unable to SELL anything for months or years, he cant keep working or paying rent, etc, BUT if every person has a UBI he won’t suffer if he can’t sell something every day.
