      Damn, I wanna do something like this, the last time I did something like this was October of last year but I was in prince Rupert, Canada on a moose hunt, I never made it back to camp and underestimated the sunset, with a rifle and day pack I built a pretty kick ass shelter and fire.... great videos.... cheers from Oregon, USA 🇺🇸

    All that being said....the "mess" inside the tents would've driven me insane.

      Hahaha you're not wrong. I was definitely a little unorganized on this one and have slowly been dialing in my gear since then.
      Thanks for coming over and watching, poor ol' Joe!

    You guys know some pretty sweet spots to camp & fish. I've been to a few of them. Thinking about camping this week in the Apsley area.

    • @CoveringWater
      @CoveringWater  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks man, it has taken many years to find some of them and continuous attempts at fishing them to see if it's worth camping on for a weekend. So cool that you know of some of the spots.
      Enjoy your trip around Apsley, and thanks for watching.
      Cheers, Ryan

    Enjoy the video! I just bought a clam X400 and a winnerwell stove however I’m planning to use for camping so far. Possibly fish. There’s something magical and primate about making a little cozy home in the middle of nowhere then moving it on to another area.

    • @CoveringWater

      Thanks for watching Clarence. And you've got that right, the dead silence of winter truly is something magical. I hope you enjoy your setup this year, makes winter camping that much better.
      Cheers, Ryan.

    Hey guys who is the guitarist at the beginning of this video? love the style. A flash looking tent - but was the snow melting inside. a bit on the wet side. How pristine is your surroundings & quite lovely to see. So travel safely & cheers

      Hey thanks for watching!
      Sorry for the lake reply, the artist for the tune is Chris Haugen, and is called Front Porch Blues.
      The scenery up in that area is outstanding in the winter, and very quiet besides the odd snowmobile.
      Take care, Ryan.

  • @MrKveite1
    @MrKveite1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Bring some foam mats to cover the floor up and u wont have to swim out of the tent:) you dont have to worry about the mats taking a bit of space since you use a snowmobile.

    • @CoveringWater
      @CoveringWater  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for watching!
      That's what I've been thinking of using this year, the 1 inch thick mats that puzzle together. Bit of trial and error to dial in this set up.
      Take care, Ryan.

    Cool.
    Just wondering,,, tent behind the stove is perfectly good without any protection? Like some sort of heat shield?

    • @CoveringWater
      @CoveringWater  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is an ice fishing hut, so the material is made to withstand heat as most people heat them with a propane heater. We havent noticed any excessive amount of heat on the wall behind the stove, but a shield would be good just to reflect the heat back.
      Thanks for watching!
      Cheers.

    What’s the diameter of the stove pipe? I have the otter resort and just got my winnerwell nomad stove delivered. Trying to do the same set up

    • @CoveringWater
      @CoveringWater  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey thanks for watching!
      You'll love the resort with the woodstove set up. The diameter of the pipe on this one is 5".

    Are they heating up an area on top of a frozen lake?

    • @CoveringWater
      @CoveringWater  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That we did! Just like ice fishing. It would take alot of consistent heat to melt that much ice if thats you concern.

    do people ever stop saying "like" on every fourth word? Must be a testament to their government education.

    • @dovahkiingirl
      @dovahkiingirl 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Spoken languages are constantly evolving, so the people who use language are the people who determine what is appropriate. "Like" used to primarily mean "similar to", but it has now evolved to be a filler word, similar to "umm", or "hmm". Usage is not measurement of education or intellect.
