    Make a dress with all your embroidery as patches or a patchwork of them? It would be sich a cool project!

    Getting started is the hardest part. I redo/reorganize/clean my studio every sixish months. It’s fluid….

    I finally have enough room for a dedicated crafting space and have been feeling completely overwhelmed. Seeing you work through this and how pretty it turned out has helped make it feel less impossible.

    Magazine boards are quite popular for folding/wrapping fabric around so you can easily file them onto the shelf! Love watching someone else organize, all the satisfaction with none of the stress 😅🥰

    Lovely transformation! Fortunately, for the last several years, I have always had a dedicated studio space. Unfortunately, I have too much stuff!! Always trying to organize. But I love my chaos!

    I so understand you and I’m glad to see I’m not the only one that will sit for a good 30 minutes and try to figure out what the heck I’m doing. My daughter doesn’t get it… my son might but my lovely husband never says a word. Your shenanigans make me smile.

    I have a massive, extendable counter height dining table that is the apple of my eye. I only use it for cutting out fabric and it is the most indulgent luxury.

SQUIRREL!!!!!! Thank you for sharing your slit side skirt....gonna try that using nylon rip stop material. I'm not good with ironing, zippers, patterns, button holes....I can do grommets/ties or hooks/loops.
    Organized space, I will get mine.... eventually. Life gets in the way and I forget which project, material and where I left off. You are inspiring me to at least think outside my box. ❤

    I understand the perfectionist issue you have, I have it to and it keeps me from getting started on things too. It's way more debilitating than some might think. I'll be honest, when I really need to get on a task and not stress with how, but just do and let my mind not be overwhelmed with all the it has to be perfect crap, I smoke, or edibles, a little bit of sativa because it also gives me energy. Fyi, indica makes you tired, 'in da couch'.

    I've just discovered your channel and have become an enthusiastic subscriber! During the studio reveal, I noticed an embroidered piece hanging in the first open cubby to the left of your desk. It looks like a fabulous 'paisley' flower. Is this a pattern that's available for purchase?

      @gettheetothestitchery  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It actually is! That's a partial version of my Laid Work Sampler (the sampler is much bigger, but I just did a few of the stitches for the piece you saw). It's available in my Etsy shop!

    • @gettheetothestitchery
      @gettheetothestitchery  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The macrame has unfortunately been stashed in a cabinet until further notice... I'm hoping to get at least one of the lamps up in the living room, but we haven't started furnishing in there yet. And the big embroidery stand and frame are currently in the living room - I have one corner by the window with my chair and that so I can stitch out there in a rather peaceful atmosphere!

    If you’d said you had moved to a cabin in the woods I would’ve believed you! And I just love organising, even just watching someone do it haha x) Amazing book collection as well, do you read them all? I’ve slowly started collecting books faster than I can read and really have to be careful to not accumulate too many in a too short amount of time now or I’ll go past the point of no return!

    • @gettheetothestitchery
      @gettheetothestitchery  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Okay this question made me go count how many of my books I've read.... I read every play that I get because those are pretty fast reads and easy to take with me to jobs, but unfortunately, I haven't been reading many of my actual books since like... high school. However, I do have a book-buying policy: in order to come home with me, a book must be both aesthetically pleasing to look at from the outside and on my list of titles that I hope to read before I die. No random decorative books in my stash, I want to read them all!
      Just looked over the whole collection, and it's a little hard to tell because I have several anthologies, but I estimate that I've read about 2/3 of what I own.

    • @bodinelouise
      @bodinelouise 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gettheetothestitchery That's not too bad! And "titles that I hope to read before I die" x) hahaha!! But I get it - I love collecting books but I'm not buying one just because it looks pretty, I need to want to read it as well. I do believe in the concept of "you need a certain book for a certain type of mood" so even if I have 8 books to read but am not in the mood for any of them I'll buy a new one. Or three... Or another 8...
