I appreciate the love this tune is getting thanks to a great cover by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, but damn. Nothing touches Lucinda. Big love for this lady always
You are right , I love the Plant Krauss version , but much prefer this one, Big credit to Lucinda, I have now heard three different cover versions of this song
Nobody does this song better than Lucinda, but fans should know she didn't write it. "Can't Let Go" was written and performed regularly in concert by her good friend Randy Weeks. It was the biggest hit from her 1998 album "Car Wheels on a Gravel Road," and the only song on it that she didn't write.
@@Frank-sm9yl Of course that's true, but it could never have become one of her signature songs if Weeks hadn't written it. Same goes for Linda Ronstadt covering Warren Zevon's "Poor Poor Pitiful Me."
Over 121K and 32 losers gave this magnificent performance a thumbs down. I guess that is the ratio of the universe. I just hope I get to see Lucinda again LIVE one day.
Kenny Vaughn, John Jackson on guitars and JIm Lauderdale backing Lucinda -WOW! I just listened to a cover of Lucindas song by Slidon Krauss and Robert Plant with a bad ass band!
I can't decide, they're both so great. Robert and Alison hit it out of the park, but this performance is just ferocious. I have to give the nod to the songwriter herself.
Told you, baby, one more time Don't make me sit all alone and cry Well, it's over I, know it but I can't let go I'm like a fish out of water, a cat in a tree You don't even want to talk to me Well, it's over, I know it but I can't let go He won't take me back when I come around Says he's sorry then he pulls me out I got a big chain around my neck And I'm broken down like a train wreck Well, it's over, I know it but I can't let go See I got a candle and it burns so bright In my window every night Well, it's over, I know it but I can't let go You don't like to see me standin' around Feel like I been shot and didn't fall down Well, it's over, I know it but I can't let go He won't take me back when I come around Says he's sorry then he pulls me out I got a big chain around my neck And I'm broken down like a train wreck Well, it's over, I know it but I can't let go Turn off the trouble like you turn off a light Went off and left me, it just ain't right Well, it's over, I know it but I can't let go Around every corner, something I see Brings me right back how it used to be Well, it's over, I know it but I can't let go He won't take me back when I come around Says he's sorry then he pulls me out I got a big chain around my neck And I'm broken down like a train wreck Well, it's over, I know it but I can't let go He won't take me back when I come around Says he's sorry then he pulls me out I got a big chain around my neck And I'm broken down like a train wreck Well, it's over, I know it but I can't let go It's over, I know it but I can't let go It's over, I know it but I can't let go It's over, I know it but I can't let go
Dernier morceau du formidable concert de 1998, l'un des meilleurs des années 1990. Difficile de faire mieux. Elle est contente de son travail et de ses musiciens. Elle a bien raison.
Krauss and Plant's live version is far superior to their album version, but nothing touches Lucinda's live or album versions. She has so much power and control and passion. This is really one of my all-time favourite songs in the world!
No disrespect to the great Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin but Lucinda Williams' original from her 1998 album "Car Wheels on a Gravel Road" is way better. And, so's this live version!!
DEAREST LUCINDA, WE SPOKE ON THE PHONE ONCE, IN 1969. I WAS IN URBANDALE, IOWA AND YOU WERE IN L.A. . BOTH YOU AND I WANTED TO PLAY THE GUITAR AND BE SINGER/SONGWRITERS. MY MASONIC NAME IS LUCID. PLAY ON MAGIC FINGERS.
When Kenny Vaughan is backing you, you always fly on a magic carpet...
and Jim Lauderdale singin with you never hurts...
Amen brother!👍
Himself, Jim Lauderdale, mah favorite white boy..
I noticed that. Dude is good!
Kenny is the real deal.
I appreciate the love this tune is getting thanks to a great cover by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, but damn. Nothing touches Lucinda. Big love for this lady always
t bone brought this music, Towne Zant Gene clark, Every Bros
You are right , I love the Plant Krauss version , but much prefer this one, Big credit to Lucinda, I have now heard three different cover versions of this song
Facts‼️ Can’t touch Lucinda 🎶
I totally love her ❤️❤️❤️
Nobody growls soulfully like Lucinda!
The cover wasn’t blue enough
You can taste the piss and vinegar in the guitar, lyrics and Vocals. It’s a Randy, Kenny and Lucinda cocktail that is impossible to dislike.
i like that analogy "thank you i'll have another"
Apart from the fact that this is simply a great song ... the guitars are awesome here.
Yeah, I love the energy in this performance!

He didn't make squat off of it until she recorded it.

Hey thanks a lot for posting this info,
I recognized Lucinda, Kenny and Jim but didn't know the others, or the date.
Anyone who didn't love this doesn't appreciate music
Best version yet! Love you, Lucinda!
Hello 👋 Anna. How are you doing? Hope you are fine
her smile at the end there, i just love seeing her happy
I can listen to Lucinda for hours. Pure joy!
I bought gravel road and fell in love with her voice
...my first Lucina too...
I'm so disappointed that there are only 11,000 views. This deserves a much larger audience.
And now its up to 34,900 lucky people who heard this lady rock!
115k is just round the corner but yeah , should be in teh millions if there was any justice in this world , which there ain't
11,001 now
Right on man 👍
We’re at 23003 now 👍 2023
Miss Lucinda is a great story teller and has got so much soul! We are blessed to have her!
This song describes how you can't move on with your life, perfectly!💔
Over 121K and 32 losers gave this magnificent performance a thumbs down. I guess that is the ratio of the universe. I just hope I get to see Lucinda again LIVE one day.
This chick rocks!!!
Hello Melinda how are you doing hope you’re having a great time with your family may God bless you and your family
I played this for my 80yrs old dad and he said damn that's playing now
Mine did too dad said it doesn't get any better than that
Kenny Vaughn, John Jackson on guitars and JIm Lauderdale backing Lucinda -WOW! I just listened to a cover of Lucindas song by Slidon Krauss and Robert Plant with a bad ass band!
The best.
Saw Lucinda do this song on Saturday night live, I was hooked!
This tune is one great jam. Lucinda Williams is soo good!
So pleased I have this DVD in my collection
Great band she has a lot of very good songs
love that voice!❤
I can't decide, they're both so great. Robert and Alison hit it out of the park, but this performance is just ferocious. I have to give the nod to the songwriter herself.
She didn't write it.
@@climbnride58 According to google, she did.

Such a catchy song, and I perform it all the time!
Me, too.
Lucinda killing it again...
THAT is what I'm talkin' about.
Astute comment.
How, why have I spent decades ignoring this fiery artist? Condemn me. I'm guilty
I didn't realize she was this great this perfect until now.
Very cool song!
What a lot of people don't understand this is live how awesome is that
Seems Lucinda is always has some hot guitar players around ! Love it !
Perks of the job...lol
Around every corner, something I see
Brings me right back how it used to be
Well, it's over, I know it but I can't let go
She’ll be at the Barrymore Theater in Madison, Wi. September 2022. This Lake Charles girl can’t wait!!
As good as it can be. My my!
Love this ‼️
Hello Terri how are you doing hope you’re having a great time with your family may God bless you and your family
Thanks for posting love everything Lucinda !!
Saw Lucinda 2 consecutive nights at the belly up in solana beach it was the best being right up front there with her and her mercury 6 band.
Told you, baby, one more time
Don't make me sit all alone and cry

I'm like a fish out of water, a cat in a tree
You don't even want to talk to me
Well, it's over, I know it but I can't let go
He won't take me back when I come around
Says he's sorry then he pulls me out
I got a big chain around my neck
And I'm broken down like a train wreck
Well, it's over, I know it but I can't let go
See I got a candle and it burns so bright
In my window every night
Well, it's over, I know it but I can't let go
You don't like to see me standin' around
Feel like I been shot and didn't fall down
Well, it's over, I know it but I can't let go
He won't take me back when I come around
Says he's sorry then he pulls me out
I got a big chain around my neck
And I'm broken down like a train wreck
Well, it's over, I know it but I can't let go
Turn off the trouble like you turn off a light
Went off and left me, it just ain't right
Well, it's over, I know it but I can't let go
Around every corner, something I see
Brings me right back how it used to be
Well, it's over, I know it but I can't let go
He won't take me back when I come around

It's over, I know it but I can't let go
It's over, I know it but I can't let go

Broken hearts of the world call it quits. You have nothing to lose but your chains.
As they say where I come from "That girl will tell you what time it is".
Y ahora Robert Planta y Allison Kraus hacen cover, ya la habéis escuchado? Yo me quedo con la maravillosa Lucinda
love, love her!
She’s great!!!!
Great stuff luv it
God, I truly love her.
AWESOME ( and sad but I get it! )
Oh, Lord! Have Mercy!
Hypnotic.

Just like all the Williams family great stories to tell
Rocking with Lucy❤..a national treasure 🎉
One of my faves from this lass... 🎶🎶🎸✌😎talent...yr to yr
I just heard the Krause/Plant cover. It was so lifeless it sent me back to this one by Lucinda!
In 2021 always, super live of Lucinda and band!!! From France.
That b3 organ does more for the groove and bottom end than 8 guitars... :)
One of my regrets, left in 2017. Didn't get to see this.
O the Joy ! kicking ass
so great
She kicks it into that third gear.
awesome
Krauss and Plant's live version is far superior to their album version, but nothing touches Lucinda's live or album versions. She has so much power and control and passion. This is really one of my all-time favourite songs in the world!
That has the impact of a runaway train! Enough said....
Plant /krauss got me here 👌👌👌
I think this is Lucinda's "Gregg Allman" song. Come on, you can hear the comparison can't you, but without an organ of course. So much swagger!!
Tight.
Just what I thought. Damn, they sound good here.
I heard Della Mae play this at Boats n Bluegrass and it was smokin'
hell yes
Killer...I miss good bands on ACL.
Great song written by Randy Weeks!
10 thumbs up! I mean 11 - 11 THUMBS UP!

Yep
Of course Kenny and Lucinda.
Comments are open boys. Simp squad aseemble
Earnie Douglass ....is doing fine & playing well
😀👍
Oh, you came here because you heard Plant and Krauss sing this?
Hell no.
Is that Ernie from "My Three Sons" on rhythm guitar? Seriously, John "JJ" Jackson wails here on that Strat!
the guitar players are John Jackson on slide guitar and the "rythm" guitar is played by a great musician : Kenny Vaughn
That’s legendary Kenny Vaughn, check out his work with Marty Stuart.
@@bradswanson6788 I had seen KV with Marty Stuart. Plays a mean Telecaster.
Kenny Vaughan!
My mantra
Hello hello Monica how are you doing hope you’re having a great time with your family may God bless you and your family

No disrespect to the great Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin but Lucinda Williams' original from her 1998 album "Car Wheels on a Gravel Road" is way better. And, so's this live version!!
Totally agree, saw her in Glasgow last year, 2023, bloody brilliant, even after a stroke she's got rick in her blood and such a great writer.
Rock not rick, sorry! Damn autocorrect...
drummin' yer ass off, Timmy...yeah, get er done, pal
