On the part about the H&H Paradox. You mentioned that the partial rifling allowed for more accuracy with both shot and slugs. Rifling dramatically increases the spread of shotshells, as the rotation of the shotcup makes the shot spread faster due to the centrifugal forces of a rotating shotcup. Try shooting shotshells through a rifled barrel or with a rifled choke, it's awful.
Fun fact about the calico, upon developing The SMG versions, they found out the gun had a cyclic rate of over 3000 rounds per minute i believe it was approaching 3800 which is basically unusable, as by the time you got your finger off the trigger to do a burst, you were most of the way through a 100 round magazine. And they were slowed down to a fire rate under 1000 RPM.
Once again, an awesome and well produced video. The use of H3VR even with Mods is just the cherry on top to better see and understand the guns that are shown, an image can only show so much of a gun, whereas VR can show multiple dimensions how they are function. Keep up the amazing work.
"2-shot derringer" "mass shooting" Does not compute. Neither does "kids might mistake it for a phone". You're not supposed to have it lying around in the reach of kids. But it's telling that they will eagerly claim that every single last person who wants one of those wants it for "nefarious purposes"...
You'd also have a hard time committing what is legally defined as a mass shooting with just 2 shots, since you have to shoot at least 4 people. Its certainly possible if your shots overpenetrate and you hit 2 people with each bullet, or if you are able to reload uninterrupted.
VSS is in no way an AK-like beyond ergonomics, firing with a short stroke piston and a bolt more similar to that of AR-15. Also, fun fact: the gun is actually available on a civilian market, just not in US.
The connection people make between guns like the AKM, SVD, and VSS are largely due to the similarities in their manual of arms, that being: You can generally use the exact same training for shooting an AK as you can with an SVD or VSS. When you break the guns apart, there are very few real similarities between them, especially with the Dragunov which is more mechanically related to the SKS than anything else.
@@no-legjohnny3691 SKS is closer to FN FAL. SVD is very unique on the inside (and it's obvious why if you try to field-strip it), only other Degtyarov automatic weapons like DP and DShK have the same system.

@CuteKiller313 There's a couple other experimental guns that use the same ammo, but from my knowledge it Is kind of complicated/expensive to make, does not have very good effective range, and since there's virtually no gas coming out of the casing, they wouldn't cycle super well in a semi auto.
@@DarthBrandybuck the PSS Vul (pronounced as wool) uses that ammo as well, and it is even more quiet and has a bigger capacity. also, the NRS (shooting scout knife), that can shoot from it's handle is a very interesting piece

About the MAG-7, since I'm one of the very few people in the US who has not only owned one but also fired it: It was purpose built for South African police for use in urban raids in cities like Johannesburg. Supposedly, the shell length was determined as the compromise of enough power to be consistently lethal but also not overpenetrate. You CAN absolutely rest your finger outside the trigger without crucnhing it, you just have to rest it on the receiver, so at about a 30° angle. The shells are proprietary, but handloading shotshells to proper length (about 2 3/16 inch uncrimped) is not a particularly expensive affair, just time consuming. Techno Arms supposedly still exists, but new MAG-7 haven't been produced since the 90s. NFA (not NRA) importation rules gave it the stupid stock and barrel, which really ruin the use case for it, and apparently most of the ones in the US were converted to SBSs, so M1 20 inch configurations are dummy rare. Originally I read about 1000 were imported, but the real number seems to be about 200 or so from 2 importers. Mine was a PWA. The other imports weirdly enough had a different pattern rear sight. Both were only imported in 1996. It's weird to hold for sure but not the monumentally terrible experience everyone seems to think it is. Also, the sheer utility of a magazine fed shotgun is really understated (try speed reloading 5 shells faster than a mag swap when you aren't Jerry Miculek) and, despite its bulk, the MAG-7 is way shorter than any other 12-inch barrel pump action due to its configuration putting the trigger group in front of the magazine well. The argument of its size has always seemed wildly unfair to me because its almost never put side by side against any other SBS with similar barrel length.
I spent a probably unnecessary amount of time trying to make sure I got the pronunciation as correct as I could. I think "showgren" is also acceptable but the "sjö" is pronounced kind of like a "hwe"
There is so much cool guns, but modern games be like: -M16 -Short M16 -M16 MP -M16 DMR -M16 Sniper Rifle -M16 MG -M16 Shotgun -M16 Triple Shot -20x M16s with different handguard -M16 for 300 BLACKOUT -M16 with silencer -M16 Bullpup
I've fired 3 of the exact dog revolvers you showed. They originally came with a sheath that would be mounted on the handlebar of the bicycle. They sound lije they'd be horrendously inaccurate, but they could absolutely be used to hit a dog within 3ft of the user. Maybe not in a particular spot, but you would almost certainly hit the dog.
Must say how much I appreciate how you did not do the generic iceberg style of '[Name of entry]. *Generic wikipedia 1st paragraph*' then hard cutting to the next one, you include actual segways, thank god

This video was just just as good as the first. Some odd choices here - some of these I'd put on the tier above and some of that tier that I'd put here or even below, but it was still a well put together video that I enjoyed immensely (even if I did have to watch it in parts over 2 days because I kept hitting interrupted 😆) Keen for more.
I have a suggestion for one of the future videos. The "submachine 8mm wolf" a polish homemade SMG using deactivated AK rounds with drilled primer pockets holding .27 cal ramset blanks. It has an incredibly weird operating mechanism that I still don't understand. The fact that it uses quasi rimfire 7.62x39 rounds isn't even the weirdest part of it. Several videos of it firing are available on TH-cam.
I got one for ya. Whether its unusual enough for a video is up to you. The Colt Commando .38 Revolver. A rare military version of the police positive issued to personnel who ought to have a gun but didn't warrant anything that would otherwise go to the frontlines. Finished in matte drab with a 4 inch barrel 6 round cylinder and simple sights they were liked for the wonderful Colt double action trigger. Ultimately around 50,000 were made, which may sound like a lot but considering most WWII small arms had production numbers in excess of 1million it's a pittance. They sold well enough as surplus and since then most were lost to time with well preserved examples fetching good prices.
I have an HS-10B. Worth noting, the A models had the flashlight mounted integrally whilst the B models had a removable flashlight as well as a left- sided charging handle. In my experience, it's a than ideal shotgun and reliability from my model has been rather bad
if you look closely at Johnny Silverhand's pistol, its a modified version of the Mars pistol, moving the grip from around the mag well to slot bigger cartridges, while still feeding backwards so that the chamber is directly over the magazine
The KS 23 was quite the bit of clever recycling. They used poor quality 23mm aircraft gun barrels that could still be used with lower pressure ammo. Those russians were clever, as the AS VAL and VSS shot the 9x39mm. The 9x39 was a "necked up" 7.63x39 (from the AKM/AK47) they just stuck a massive bullet in it. This was done to simultaneously increase the penetration on body armor of the time, and make the bullet subsonic.
There was an idea floated around to fire a revolver rifle by bracing it under the grip against the other arm wrapped around the torso Like a tighter version if the firing stance of snipers in xcom 2 It didnt really go anywhere because repeaters invalidated the idea of a revolving rifle pretty quickly
So many of these experimental guns make great sci-fi props. Like I already love the C96 and the Bergmann which already are but the MAG-7 with the foregrip and without a stock looks straight from the hands of a Stormtrooper and Howell Automatic with all its bits and doodads already looks like it shoots lasers.
1:03:50 another example would be the stoeger 2000 I’ve used one on multiple hunting trips and it’s very reliable system. What is interesting I’ve found is that if you remove the rubber buttpad, and put the stock against a tree or something, the gun won’t cycle
The calico wouldn't be so awful if the magazine fed ammo from front to back so that it could be positioned further along the gun, allowing for a proper rear sight post and a further forward front sight post, allowing for a substantially better sight picture.
brink defenders are the worst. it's like people who remember the first splitgate as a great game, despite it forcing you to play with/against mostly bots against your will.
everything comes from the Thunderstore. I can't really list specifics since a lot of mods require other mods to work but the thunderstore will automatically add whatever you need to make a mod run properly.
I had a Janes guide to guns book when i was 10 and the VSS was in it but was all speculation information because nobody really knew about it yet lol. This was 2001
LOL at the ideal conceal cellphone gun. I didn't know about it !! Of course I'm happy it didn't get banned and am in favour of it being sold and bought - BUT it really shouldn't be bought, aside from buying it as a toy or curiosity, its design is so dumb, there's literally ZERO situations where it would be better to have it than some other mini CC gun, like my favourite, the SIG 365. Like, even pocket carrying is something I'd advise against, but to each their own, but even pocket carrying a normal gun would be better. Laughable. And everything else aside, I do agree with the critics saying the guns existence (and if popular) could constitute plausible deniability to some bad guy with a gun to claim self defence or w/e (blue people or not) (and I'll repeat myself to be extra clear, I'd never defend the notion that this should factor in any way on a gun's legality or whatever)
Heckler and Coke is wrong, too. It's Koch. Like Loch (the Scottish word for lake). Or how Achmeds pronounce their name. It's one of those sounds standard English doesn't have.
There's little mistake about 9x19 rounds used in PP-2000. It's 7n21 (Seven N Twenty-one) instead on Zn21, the same with other russian variants of 9mm parabellum.
Legend has it that H&K won't export the MP7 to the US until the buyers can pronounce the name.

everything comes from the Thunderstore. I can't really list specifics since a lot of mods require other mods to work but the thunderstore will automatically add whatever you need to make a mod run properly.
Oh neat
Jonah Hill if he was badass and talked about cool guns
Didn’t the Schjogren shotgun get released within a couple weeks of the Browning A5? You ask as if it was already established for a long time.
As a German I'm delighted by both your mispronouncing and your will for improvement
I had a Janes guide to guns book when i was 10 and the VSS was in it but was all speculation information because nobody really knew about it yet lol. This was 2001
that's wild
Love the Cody Firearms Museum!
17:15 you forgot to mention that they would actually rechamber those guns to 9mm with barels taken from lugers as is the case in that image
Heckler and Coke is wrong, too. It's Koch. Like Loch (the Scottish word for lake). Or how Achmeds pronounce their name. It's one of those sounds standard English doesn't have.
YESSSSIIRRRR❤❤❤
There's little mistake about 9x19 rounds used in PP-2000. It's 7n21 (Seven N Twenty-one) instead on Zn21, the same with other russian variants of 9mm parabellum.
apparently I can't read😅
