    Circling back around to tell you and everyone reading that I just passed my Core 1 exam moments ago. I have used ONLY these videos and about 20 minutes of flash card studying (USE ANKI!) a day for about 2 months. I have no prior knowledge in this area and, outside of incidental knowledge gleaned from gaming, knew almost nothing of the subject matter before starting out. You can do it, gang. And thanks, professor.

      @Vitaliy There's plenty of premade decks of flashcards on Quizlet, I would recommend starting with what's there. That's what I'm doing.

      funny im 16 and i failed my core1 exam about 1 hour ago. i got 655 (passing score 675). i learned for 4 months i dont know what i do now.

    Just passed the 1001 and 1002 thanks to your videos.
    Some additional information for anyone just starting their A+ studies -- Google's IT program (via Coursera) is pretty informative and gets into decent technical detail on stuff like networking and encryption (e.g. construction of data packets, specifically why RC4 was deprecated as an encryption standard, etc.), but there are areas that do not overlap with the CompTIA exam objectives, and vice versa.
    Even if you take the Google classes, if you're going to take the A+ exam, Messer is comprehensive. Good job, man.

      Great note on this. I'm also enrolled in the Google IT program via Coursera and it's a great jumping off point. I find that I recognize quite a bit while I'm studying the Comptia A+ official study guide.

    3 months ago I started this journey . passed core 2 yesterday and I'm certified , a Cuban immigrant that worked with me introduced me to the goat aka Professor Messer and I said if he did it and passed" why cant I. ? well it happened I passed first try on both, my girlfriend is G14 government IT in DC and she will be my gateway in. she told me how important these certs are but once your in you are in !... good luck to everyone stay positive and picture that passing score.

      best 300$ spent in the course success bundle, that physical copy is so good.
      the goat is good, you can tell hes been doing this for years and he knows that by putting these videos for free people will throw money at him for hes other material he is that good !

    As an immigrant coming from Cuba 7 years ago, I never thought that being A+ certified would be possible with all the challenges I had to face coming here. As of yesterday, 6/22/24, I am officially A+ certified passing both of my exams on first try. A big part of that I owe to Professor Messer; thank you so much for all your time and dedication that you put into your videos; sometimes it might go unnoticed but you are truly changing lives out here with the work you do.
    Good luck to everyone reading this, just know that anything is possible if you put your mind to it, keep pushing and never give up!

    I passed my Core 1 exam this morning! Here’s how I did it:
    1) Read the course notes before watching each video.
    2) Watched the video about the notes to reinforce the material.
    3) Took practice tests after each module (1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0) to focus on specific content.
    4) Daily practice tests: I used Messer’s practice tests every day. Instead of just memorizing the correct answers, I focused on understanding why the other options were incorrect. This made a huge difference.
    5) Supplemented all of this with core 1 Quizlets made by other people on my freetime.
    i did this over the course of 1.5 months, studying 2 hours everyday. You can do it in a shorter time period but dont rush through topics you dont understand.

      @@Blue-sl5bn good question. examcompass has some but the questions arent worded like the actual exam, however, they are good at re enforcing the material in your head. Also, you can find some on youtube if you search up the module, example: Core 1 Networking Module Practice Test

      ​@@1ShaggyDog Hey - it took me about 4 months. I failed my first time on Core 1. But I mostly used these videos as well as ExamTopics. (Most answers on that site are wrong but it gets you used to the type of questions on the test.) Hope this helps!

    Passed 5 minutes ago. I woke up this morning, and impulsively decided I didn't want to study anymore. So, I registered for the soonest opening (a friday night), and now I get the whole weekend free! I studied about a month, but I have many years experience. These videos have been rolling non-stop for weeks, and got my brain thinking about what it needed to. Thanks professor Messer. Adding, my exam only had 70 questions, dont know why? Next time, I'll prepare flash cards for acronyms. I'm also going to use a larger monitor. i had to get so close to my tiny laptop screen to be able to read, that my forehead was obscuring the webcam. They complained a couple times about it because they couldn't see behind me. Onto core 2.

      Get it my man. I interviewed and got a Network Engineering job with 0 experience, just self study and am about finished with a CS degree. It's all I've wanted since 2020 and I'm making it happen. MBA in the fall. I HIGHLY suggest WGU to get that piece of paper to get into the 100k+ jobs.

    Just passed my core 1 exam! Thank YOU professor Messer!! You are truly a godsend. Aid anybody is thinking about getting the cert, DO IT! IMAGINE yourself passing the exam and truly believe in yourself!! YOU CAN DO ANYTHING!! I used professor messers videos, his practice tests, and exam compass a+ 1101 practice exams and I passed! This was for about 2 months where I really locked in on the concepts and used the exam objectives to make sure I was understanding all exam topics!! Good luck everyone and remember YOU CAN DO IT!!

      @@Blick405 Use Jason Dion's practice tests on Udemy. They aren't free, an easy workaround is to simply go to your local library's website and look for the online resources tab, in that tab see If they have Udemy listed, so you can use it to access all Udemy courses for free.
      If your library doesn't have Udemy listed, then worry not. You can use a library website from another city or state as well, as long as they don't ask you to verify you are a resident of that city.

    Came back here to share that I successfully passed both my Core 1 (Oct 30) and Core 2 (Dec 2) exams and I am now A+ certified, all thanks to these wonderful courses! Professor Messer is the GOAT for teaching everything you need to pass these exams! With that being said, I HIGHLY recommend checking out his Practice Exams, they are incredibly helpful for preparing for you exams. Be confident and know that you are in good hands here.       @@Blballerboy I took a lot of notes while watching the videos. There is a book I used also that's called Exam Cram and that was extremely helpful for me personally. I didn't use flashcards, but I've seen others use those and that seemed to help them remember Port Numbers and things like that.

    Good luck to everyone planning to take this exam in the future. I landed an entry level IT job a month ago, with just the Net+. I wouldn't have gotten this far without Prof Messer, so thank you very much sir. However I quickly found out that I could be a lot better at the job if I had hardware knowledge, so I'm planning to do the A+ in the near future.     Just passed my CompTIA core 1 exam thanks to you professor messer! Practiced roughly 6-7 weeks with just the videos and practice exams.
    Highly recommend you to anyone wanting to take the exams. Don't necessarily listen to anyone that says everything isn't included with professor Messer's videos. Found he has a laser focus on the exam objectives and although I had questions I'd never seen before on the exam..was still able to power through them.
    I had knowledge before already with computers and servers - port forwarding etc (hosted game servers). Again can't recommend you enough!

      Mostly doing something else whilst listening to his videos. Anything I needed to actually see, say switches or a ONT I would obviously watch and research further.

      ​@@grassthenoob6371 I have always struggled with school and been a slow learner and unable to really focus, so I took it slow. To pass both took me a bit under a year (I hear most people take only a month or two). What I do suggest is writing notes and if possible, do his practice exams. In addition, you need to understand how all the material relates to each other and their applications. The exam will never ask you what does X stand for. It will say something more along the lines of, this just happened, what do you do next? In addition, two of the answers will seem valid. Often times, I would find myself down to a 50/50 guess.
      If I were to do it all over again, I would find labs that I could do after watching and understanding his videos.

      @@user-ql1ht If you get the practice exams from the professor, you may as well study using all the material he provides (videos and stuff). If you just do the practice exams and not watch the videos or study, I don't think you would pass. That being said, the Professor has some of the best exams out there. He not only tells you the answer to the question and why its the right answer but also explains the wrong answer and why they are wrong.

There's no end of horror stories online about forfeited vouchers and horrible customer support. It seems like any convenience from taking it online is outweighed by the draconian online proctoring requirements. Take a look for yourself, but it seemed to me that taking the test in person was clearly the better option if you're able.

      @@ancho_vz There were some gaps but generally yes. Absolutely, absolutely do not take the test without looking at the exam objectives first. I went through the objectives line by line and anything that wasn't in the course notes I googled.

      ​@@ahmed12t I didn't take the 1002. So I can't really speak to any differences besides whatever is listed in the exam objectives. However, I was able to pass both using the information in this course and some supplementary material for the new objectives. The day before the exam I went through the objectives line-by-line and made sure to Google anything I didn't understand.

    I just passed my Core 1 exam(1101)!! 715 score(675 is pass out of 900) These videos definitely helped, even though ive been doing hands on IT personally for 9 years. The exam definitely was a little different than his practice exams, and IMO harder but i think its a little bit of luck on the questions you get but a lot of studying that these videos covered almost everything. The exam says some questions dont count and those random questions are for their research to see if you know anything outside the testing requirements. unfortunately they dont tell you how anything is calculated and what questions didnt count. Just study this, make sure you know everything DEFINITELY get the practice exams and get 85/90 right before taking and i think you will do fine! good luck!

    I just passed my comptia 1101 using ONLY this resource and practice questions. I take the 1102 in another week or two and I couldn't have done it without you. I went from pretty much only knowing how to turn a computer on and browsing the internet to passing 1101 in about 5 days. Most people take a minimum of a few months - but seriously - thank you.

      make sure you really read and understand what the questions are asking. I had a few times during revision that is completely misunderstood the question and had to change my answer.
      Practice simulations a lot. I had simulations on the exam that were similar to some of the practice sims here on TH-cam. These are normally the first set of questions and can really take up time if you are stumped on them.
      And last I would say if you come across a question that is giving you issues mark it for later and move on. You want to finish the question that you are sure you know and have enough time to come back and analyze the question/s that stumped you. I found this to be effective and I always have enough time to do at least 1 and a half revisions. Hope this helps and good Luck!

    Thank You Professor Messer! I just passed my 1101 test and I used your videos to get there. I watched the entire video series A+ Training Course one time through to see if IT was right for me. The way you presented the concepts was very approachable and easy to learn. After getting this overview of the information and deciding it was right for me I then watched the entire series a second time and took detailed notes. I then immediately purchased and took one of your practice tests (Thank you for providing more than one practice test!). I did not do great on this first practice test, but it did give me an idea of how much more I needed to study and where to focus my studies. The practice tests were also very helpful in preparing for the format of the actual test. I then focused my studies in the areas I needed the most help and proceeded to take the next test when I felt more prepared. I did great on the second test and that prompted me to schedule the real thing! I took the third and final practice test the day before my actual exam to get in the proper mindset of test taking/ find any last minute topics I needed to focus. This entire process took me 2 months of studying and I would not have been able to do it without your help. Thanks again and wish me luck on 1102!

Thanks to you over the past 4 weeks with strict studying with your content i have passed my a+, net+ and sec+ - i really hope you expand into some of the other comptia certs - not sure how ill pass my cloud+ without your vids❤

    Messer has great videos over CompTIA material. Highly recommend! As someone with multiple certs in IT, Messer has excellent videos at getting to the point and helping people understand the material.

      @@user-ql1ht thanks. It’s hard to say because I’ve had 1 year help desk experience now so that was also very beneficial. I would recommend doing lots of practice exams, all the ones I found online were free. Regardless, I will certainly be using messers core 2 playlist next! Good luck
