Unfortunately, it's not uncommon. The nasty truth is that abusers and those who will either put up with it or make excuses have a strange way of finding each other, and it's not just the abusers being able to spot who will take it either, the attraction goes both ways. And before anyone thinks I'm somehow justifying or defending abusive relationships, if it's a problem we would like to solve then we have to be honest about what's at the core of it.

"Dexter, how do you a blood spatter analyst/forensics expert know what dosage to give a grown man Paul's size" always bothered me for years how stupid that was.
I thought it was believable because when Paul was first shown on camera it was emphasized how similar he and Dexter looked. It felt like Rita was looking for similarities rather than objectively looking at Dexter. Both when they started dating and whenever things went wrong
What gets me is how Dexter slowly walks towards Deb, the same way he did Doakes when Doakes found out he was the BHB and made him put on the handcuffs... Good thing for Deb she put the gun down
He literally let her because it gave him a perfect alibi for his dark passenger activities. In the scene where she assumes hes an addict, you can see the relief on his face. He hadn’t even came up with a lie to explain away him sneaking away yet The rational is it’s obviously better for her to assume he’s an addict then him a serial killer
And if he had given the police excuse (which makes sense of course) she still would have been watching him closely and probably would have caught him in the act of the serial killer activities. If she believes he's at treatment then she will give more space because " anonymous".
I think it was also the fact he knew Rita knew that he wasn’t like Paul, for example the abuse effect Paul had on Rita and the kids, Paul let the drugs affect his personal life, now yes if Dexter was really an addict it probably would’ve affected his personal life too but since he’s not he knows that’s not something to worry bout, what’s also not to worry about is him not acting up the way addicts do like Paul. So Rita clearly sees he’s not an addict like the addict Paul was
It would have been funny if he said it was my dads bag harry was an addict Dexter inner monologue well he was a technical addict Ghost dad Harry really dex well that wasnt the worst thing I did

Could someone explain how the thing with Dexter and laguerta and Estrada’s shirt and wallet worked?😭 for some reason I can’t wrap my head around what happened there and how it got Dexter out of that situation

@ thank you that makes sense. I didn’t put together that he dumped estrada’s body and then put the stuff from evidence in the trash for laguerta to find. And I’m assuming the partial print on the wallet is just from when she picked the stuff up
@@logodsaw oh shit duh😂 so yeah that definitely made it look like laguerta set him up if she was saying he killed Estrada. Somehow I forgot he didn’t kill him till the season finale
It wasn't until this moment that I realised that Batista was the Bay Harbour Buther's apprentice. When Maria told Dexter the evidence that she had on him Batista told him not to say another word because he knew it would expose them both.
I never understood why Dexter decided to lean into the addiction lie with Rita. It's been established that he went to med school and that should be enough to explain how he would know how to administer a dose of heroin without killing Paul. All he had to do was tell her the initial attack was impulsive and then panic set in and he put in motion a plan to get rid of Paul.
