Icy, windy and rainy kayak trip 😂

This is the bit between Rangitoto Island and North Head. It was gusty and cold (was 4C / 39F at the start), then we managed to get some heavy rain limiting our visibility! Luckily it wasn't too long but it shows we need to be ready for any type of weather because from sunny and windless things can get bad real fast.
I think every time I paddle with Gerard we manage to get the 4 seasons in half a day!

@@gadgetman_nz4092 I am usually ok but after the rain I was totally wet and started to get cold… Plus my left ear started to hurt with all the cold wind. We landed at North Head to get some rest before paddling back to Kohimarama. That last short trip was tense because there were many sail boats racing. We tried to stay away but there were just too many so we were paddling between the boats!

Our average speed is about 4 knots. The wind speed is 20 knots. This video and the 2 previous ones are part of the same trip. The first clip has the speedometer.
