Very reassuring video, ive just bought a ds3 1600 diesel and i have a constant service light on and warning fluid is low. Can i ask where you got the new fluid bag from, i really needs mine sorting
Hi, i am just in need to change mine, great video btw. Can you recall if it is the 1.1L bag or 1.7L bag please? I am getting a choice of two when ordering.
Hi - Thanks for posting this - cold I ask a question about your scanner - does it work WITHOUT the small memory card in the slot (next to the plug in cable) my scanner has been dropped - the screen is smashed and the memory card is snapped in half - Im just wondering if it would work without it in or what infomation is on the card If it is just for storing reports etc -I could maybe use a new card and then have the screen repaired - Snap on will not touch it as it is out of warranty now Thank you
@nigelmitchell351 thanks buddy! 😊 I used a snap on Ethos for this but they are out of date now as they only go up to 2016 and the updates cost more than a new machine but if it’s only for personal use then it will plenty fine.
Do all DS3 HDI’s have this? mine is a 15 plate 1.6 90 hp and it’s done 77k but it has gone a little smoky due to mum and dad only using it on short journeys etc
I have the e-hdi 1.6. Just had service lifht on dash and a message on screen saying risk of filter clogging. Could this need a refill or does it need a blast down the motorway.
I suspect that is a message directed more toward the DPF rather than the EOLYS. I take it you do a lot short journeys? I would suggest thrashing it but a good drive down the motor way would let it regenerate. Andy👨🏼🔧
@@AMSVauxhall thanks for the quick reply. Yeah its only used to take kids to school really. Ill take it on the motorway tomorrow for a bit. Should I keep the revs high?
@@zantar666 it should be fine just running along at 70mph for approx 20/30 mins. If the message still comes after that then a garage should be able to do a forced regeneration to sort it out. If you do regular short journeys then I would add cataclean once a month to help keep the internals clean and carbon build up minimum as possible
@@AMSVauxhall thank you so much. Thats a big help.. I used cataclean in my old swift and it worked well. I forgot about that stuff. Cheers mate.. Much appreciated
@@AMSVauxhall ok so just flown down the motorway.. Did about 150 miles, won't comment on the speeds but holy shit... Feels like a new car now, fault disappeared.... Thank you
I can’t remember if the message was about DPF clogging or no restart in xxxx….Miles. No the message won’t go away on its own. Once the bag is replaced you will need diagnostics reset the values Andy 👨🏼🔧
@@AMSVauxhall thanks man. Pretty sure I need to remove the DPF and clean it off the car, the emissions stink on my One. Checked the bag, it’s still got loads left in it
Brilliant video as ever Andy, thanks for posting. Must confess, bit of weird crush on the DS3 in a sober colour, mind I am a Frenchy fan! Stay safe 🙂

I wouldn’t think it would work without the memory card as that is what the software is loaded onto but you can anyways plug it in and see.
@@AMSVauxhall Really useful video Andy thanks for posting this.
Which model of diagnostic scanner do you use and would you recommend it ? 👍

@@AMSVauxhall Thank you, but if you were to replace it what would you buy.?
@@nigelmitchell351 I’d probably buy the new snap on machine but I’d have a look at Bosch and Autel first.
Gut the DPF and do a map delete on the EOLYS/DPF.
Not my car and it’s easy enough to replace and it was due anyway. Nothing wrong with DPF system to delete it. Never understood the DPF delete 🤷🏻♂️
@@AMSVauxhall dpf remover eeprom???

Would a dpf additive put straight into the fuel be an okay quick fix till I can get the additive tank changed? Had a low level warning come up
Afraid not buddy. It works much the same way as ADBLU. The motor won’t start once it drops to a certain level

I have the P-Code 1434 and 1435 can this be the eolys Tank? Thank you for your answer.
It’s possible but it is more likely to be the pump at fault

Was this due to getting the warnings saying there was a risk of the DPF clogging and did the warnings go away on there own??
