You can operate your phone app by simply using a Bluetooth mouse or similar, so that you don't have to worry about opening the mask. You can also pair your view or cast it, for buddy viewing. You can also use a camera overlay app for viewing outside of your mask without having to open them. (Resizable, movable, collapsible) I was looking at box goggles anyway, as I can only take split vision goggles for only a few minutes. To me, that makes this more valuable than the expensive goggles.
I bought a $7.00 Bluetooth mouse that works great with my phone. The cursor is an addition to your icons on the screen, but it gives you full access to the menus and icons without unzipping the phone pouch. Full access and FPV flight is not bad!
You may have already answered this question, but with the new RC remote for the DJI Mini 3 Pro with the built in screen, is there a way that this device can be sent secondarily to a phone so that it can be used with a device like the Drone Mask so that it can be used FPV? I am ready to purchase the DJI Mini 3 Pro but I need to make sure that I have the option to use the Drone Mask if I choose to do so.
Hi there great vids…please can you tell me what cable do i need for my mini 2 to my dronemask to my phone, i have a samsung galaxy 7 edge which i think is Android…. Keep the great vids coming cheers
Great video! The reason for the hinge at the top is so that (with the mask still on your head) you can unzip it and crack it open to about 35-45degrees and make adjustments on the App while still looking at the screen. Once the adjustments made, you zip it back and keep on flying. Best is to have your controller on a neck strap so you don't have to drop it to the ground. Another viewer commented about using a bluetooth mouse...I'm going to try with a bluetooth air mouse!
Hi, you beat me by three months. A neck lanyard is the way to. Love having a third hand. Makes unzipping my Drone Mask and making changes a breeze. I already used a neck lanyard for the controller before getting a Drone Mask, never go flying with out it Happy flying and stay safe.
It absolutely DOES split the image. The left half is on the left side, and the right is on the right, with a seam down the middle. That seems like it would do the same thing as a vr mask.
My only question is, but why would you need a cable connecting your phone to the controller, the video is playing on the phone already is it not, i don't get that bit.
Depends on your set up. The drone in use here was a DJI Mavic 2 and in order to fly the drone with the screen the phone has to be connected to the controller via a cable. Same as if not using the DroneMask. This may not be the case for all drones
The OTG cable is not required for Mavic 2 controller. Just use the USB-A port on the bottom of the controller with your phone cable and unplug all cables from that top left port. Voila!
Maybe a silly question but can this be used ALONG WITH another device for flying? Kinda hard to explain what I mean but suppose I want to fly my drone normally (I use a tablet) but I also want a friend to get a fpv perspective, can he use these at the same time that I'm flying normally? In other words using some kind of cable splitter for the two devices? (dunno if "splitting" is even possible with these data cables)
No one had answered yet. So I'm going to ask this page. So. What is exactly the cord for and used for. Or can you simply place phone inside and fly FPV. I have a ruko f11 Gim 2. And it says VR and FPV. But can't find anywhere people using it for that particular drone. I'm thinking the core is not needed. But the Goggles will make it easier to fly during sunny days to block out the sun.
So the cord is used in the same way when using say the drone I have, a DJI drone, the phone is connected via the cable on the controller. Due to the mask with your phone inside being further away from the controller you need the long cord.
I'm deffo getting one of these when I get paid, it looks so cool, every video I have watched about this mask have given a great review. a huge like from me fella.
Awesome video!!! I ordered one a couple of days ago. I go out into the desert canyons east of San Diego, California, and I have always wanted to fly the canyons. I really could not do that just looking at the controller. I very much look forward to "flying" the canyons and then posting those flights on my YT channel. Cheers!
This headset has two downsides: first it's bulky and not poetable which is inconvenient if you plan to use your drone while traveling. The second issue is that you can't access your screen while it's in the headset, meaning you can't tap-to-focus or dismiss messages. I've been using MoGo Cinema2Go headset for years now, whis doesn't have these two issues. Based on my experience it's really important to be able to access the screen. For MoGo demo see here: th-cam.com/video/w5heWPkYh80/w-d-xo.html

no the camera and drone are controlled by you and the controller. The Mask gives you a FPV of the view from the drone. Its like having a huge screen in your video, its really cool
I definitely would love to get this especially for my close proximity flights on my mavic 3..It would be seriously useful for precision flyingin tight spaces and near buildings and stuff!
As long as your using a smart phone as shown in the video this works with anything. Just check the cable as shown I/you need a long cable from the controller
the quality comes from the Phone you are using. Mine was a fairly old One Plus 7 Pro and the clarity was amazing. It really is like a hige screen right in front of you like a cinema
Ordered one of these yesterday. I know it is essentially a fancy sun shade but I thought I'd try it out - as I find with my phone it's difficult to make out all the details while flying and I think this immersive exclusive with no sun will make our loads more fun. Agreed that by law in Ireland anyways that you still need VLOS so I can see myself slipping the goggles up every now and then to get a visual but it should be fine.
Hi Chris, its a matter of when you purchase the item, if you are one of the first 450 to purchase you will recieve the movie mask for free, but hard to know if 450 orders have been made, so its just luck. I can not confirm if you are in the first 450
Yea.... about that. I thought these FPV/Movie Mask goggles were going to be the end all box style Cell phone goggles, though, not so much. Invested my $149.00 for the free gift and Drone Mask Goggles. Boy was I disappointed. Tried them out with my Samsung Galaxy s9+ this past weekend, and even though they telescope out, the image was not clear enough in FPV mode, or any other mode for that matter to legibly make out the content onscreen. Unfortunately, it was a waste of money. Even went so far as to try with prescription glasses, though to no avail. My advice....if your wear glasses or have a stigmatism, don't waste your money. Mine are going on E-bay for someone else to enjoy.
Ok I was going to order one since I also have the original Magimask and need another one for my other drone and the,y work pretty well. But I also wanted the moviemask as a bonus, Noticed there's NO counter if the first 450 were already sold ! So a whole bunch of us order these things with the intent of the extra gadget and in reality nobody gets the movie mask thinking they weren't the first 450 So bait and switch like a TV infomercial ??? Also .. $170 is pretty steep.... Yes these are not like the goofy dual lense VR goggles that flooded the market ten years ago but at least the ones I did get were glass lenses....these are like the plastic magnifying glasses you get at a Walmart ....Really ???? For almost $200 at least give us high-end lenses...!!!! Sadly I'm going to wait till they show up on Ebay for $100
Hello Ken. I am so sorry for your bad experience, we take criticism for not including a counter and will remember this next time. The price is due to our patented lens designed by a Ph.D. in optometry, Knut Evanger from the University of Bergen. It lets you see the entire screen of the smartphone with each eye so that you don’t have to split up the image as you must in regular VR goggles. This makes the image 2D instead of 3D but increases the resolution drastically as you get to use all the pixels of the screen and not just half.
NO MORE MOVIE MASKS AVAILABLE. ALL 450 HAVE BEEN DISTRIBUTED
You can operate your phone app by simply using a Bluetooth mouse or similar, so that you don't have to worry about opening the mask.

Great tips! Any app recommendation for the overlay app using android?
Looks good, but $170 for a phone holder. Bit much for me.
I bought a $7.00 Bluetooth mouse that works great with my phone. The cursor is an addition to your icons on the screen, but it gives you full access to the menus and icons without unzipping the phone pouch. Full access and FPV flight is not bad!

Where are you at ? I thought the U.K. was cold and snow covered ?
Yeh the UK, this was filmed either wide of the snow
The Republic of Mancunia
Is it possible to have VLOS through the hole top left?
Hi there great vids…please can you tell me what cable do i need for my mini 2 to my dronemask to my phone, i have a samsung galaxy 7 edge which i think is Android…. Keep the great vids coming cheers
If you have litchi app you able tilt your head to look up and down..
Great video! Use a blue tooth mouse or keyboard to access menus and icons on the DJI screen?
If this gets just 1 mavic flyer into fpv then awesome
iphone 11 pro max compatibile?

That's true, I just didn't have the right cable
What is the maximum size of phone that will fit into the DroneMask?
Maybe a silly question but can this be used ALONG WITH another device for flying? @@droneuk oh ok then for ruko f11 Gim 1 and 2 we don't used cords it's just a app and you connect to the ruko WiFi. Thanks alot. That helped.

Such good fun, just great to fly with the screen in full view. Such a cool experience.
Make sure to use my link as supposed to get a free bee
What dron do you have ?
it was a DJI Mavic 2

We really appreciate your review, Andy! Thank you so much.
Does the camera move depending where you are looking?
no the camera and drone are controlled by you and the controller. The Mask gives you a FPV of the view from the drone. Its like having a huge screen in your video, its really cool
I definitely would love to get this especially for my close proximity flights on my mavic 3..It would be seriously useful for precision flyingin tight spaces and near buildings and stuff!
Wow fantastic piece of kit! Will this work with the dji mini.? Have you tried listening to music while flying?
As long as your using a smart phone as shown in the video this works with anything. Just check the cable as shown I/you need a long cable from the controller
Am I correct in thinking that It will work with the mavic 2 pro with the smart controller the same way ?
If it's the controller with the screen I don't think so. It's designed for a smart phone
@@droneuk Thanks for that much appreciated
I used ur link to order dronemask and didnt get the free offer....whats up with that???
It was stated only the first 450 ordered will receive the moviemask. Those 450 must have now passed
How about heat produced by mobile phone? Does it get hot inside? I am sure after 20min of flying the phone should get quite hot inside.
Heat seamed fine, my phone doesn't get all that hot especially for only 20 mins use it's fine
Just ordered mine yesterday. Thanks for this and hoping it's good.
Is it good as they all claim to be? It looks to me as all reviews are ordered by the company who produce this mask.
Really neat setup that's really clean I like the colors. I still got a old spark...I'm dieing for a mini 2
Think I will order this week. Just what I have been looking for.
Nice bit of kit 👍
Very neat review!!
Why can't you use the USB port on the controller directly and not have to use the dongle?
If you have a long enough cable yes you can. But my phone cable has a USB end which doesn't connect to the drone controller
Will this work with a Holy Stone that hooks to the phone with WIFI ?
Is the image quality as good as DJI Goggles ?
the quality comes from the Phone you are using. Mine was a fairly old One Plus 7 Pro and the clarity was amazing. It really is like a hige screen right in front of you like a cinema

Even for half the price it would be too expensive!. Compared to the usual cardboard phone goggles it is almost same hardware.
Man I'm sick of these drone mask adverts

They have the exact same thing for watching movies called magimask. It's $169 too. What a rip off!
looks like its going to be awesome watching Netflix.
This is way over priced eBay have similar for £10
