Neat and solid win. I saw what you did here. You got rid of your natural enemy, the knight, and its dirty weapon, the fork. Sooner or later you'll have to face your nemesis in an endgame.
12. … b6 isn’t a move a strong player would consider to stop c5 because c5 is positional suicide for white. It gives up the d5 square and weakens white’s pawn structure.
@@chesswithpatrick You’re welcome. I’m a NM who also teaches chess. The most common mistakes players in your rating range make are not considering the following: pawn breaks, scope of minor pieces/pawn structure, and ideal squares for each player to develop his pieces.
How in the analysis did you miss retreating their knight was a mistake? When the engine told you they could have played something better??? If you dont analyse the best move they could make and just move their piece thinking that they would play that you won't gain anything from analysing the game.
@@tgb-vf4es To be fair, not long ago Patrick addressed this issue. He explained that the post game analysis is meant to be a review of the game, not genuine analysis. I'm assuming he partly does this for our benefit. In any case, a full in-depth analysis of a game would take up too much time.
I wouldn't call what I do an analysis. It's just a review. By that point hte video is already 30 minutesish long and sometimes I go back after recording to review.
@AreaElf Yeah fair enough but even though not full analysis you cant just say my oppenent will do this a mistake then I will do this this and then checkmate! Better to say ah i missed that they could not have retreated the knight and defended another way! Not expecting a full analysis as that would take time!
Why can't you see that he did in fact see it? He drew an arrow several times, indicating that he saw it and considered it. Besides, ...Qg4 wasn't a good move anyway.
I thought the same but if you check with an engine it shows that Qg4 in that position takes Black from a 1.70 advantage to 0.00 - a dead even game. White doesn't need to push the pawn to g3, they can defend with Qf1 instead and have a completely even position. So far from having no killer instinct, it turns out Patrick is actually big brain!
no offense but i feel like im one of the last few people watching you, your comment section is dead in the first couple hours after you upload... if you want this to be anything more than a video recorded diary you better switch something up. Maybe hire a coach on fiver and tell them about your channel and get their permission to record the entire session? thats just 1 idea... my 2nd idea would be to start using your guitar more, play a sad song if you lose... happy song if you win... idk, do something tho lol
Really appreciate these calm, friendly games that also help my own chess. Nothing else like it out there. Keep going forever, mate ...

He never does proper analysis, not sure he wants to do that. Many people explained it to him, he never does it.

Nice play. Slightly surprised that white resigned though. They have Bxb6 and can probably win the a5 pawn too.
its check tho
Surprised as well. They stood a chance with those pawns
@@Marenqo no they didnt its check,he can move the rook back to defend them and they cant touch them
Thanks Stephen!! Hope you are well.
@@jarateman6427 true - I think there are still drawing chances though.
why cant you see Qg4
He played the best move?
thought that too, but Qf1

8.57? how do you NOT play Qg4 there ? U threaten mate in uno, if they push the pawn to G3 you SACK the bishop and mate.. no killer instinct .
Would the pawn on f2 not be going to g3 and thus blocking the queen's check? (if I understand your approach correct)
I spotted this, too. I figured Patrick saw something I did not, but the more you look at it, the checkmate was potentially there.

@@AlexMcDonnellBond I guess, you would be betting on the opponent not seeing that move with his Queen. Which at this level, is possible …
He saw it
