Thank you, Mindy! I really enjoyed watching your progress. Mixed media is a challenge for me; sometimes I get it but most times I don't (but I do save my backgrounds for other things!). I'm going to peruse your channel for more MM videos!
I want to do some more distressed pieces and this is exactly the kind of style I like. I do have “full set syndrome” 😏 and therefore have the inks and oxide pads. I’m very interested in the way you colored the images (btw thanks for including your coloring of the butterflies). Since I don’t have the pencils (except the Scorched Timber from the latest collection) I’m going to try coloring using a water brush and the ink pads. Thanks again 😊
Yes it will. I use my normal distress inks more than my oxides (really need to use oxides more!) You’ll get different colour mixes because they’re translucent rather than the more opaque oxide inks but the technique is the same. Have a play and enjoy.
Great card!!! I love mixed media because it is so freeing! So much fun❣️
Finally I understand what the mat with my Tim Holtz glassmat is for! I almost tossed it. What a big difference using it for this technique.
oh yes! it's amazing for ink smooshing ! :-)
So many things to admire on this card.
Oh my..... Outstanding!!
I'd frame it. Such a piece of art! 👌

Beautiful 👏😊 Love mixed media. Colors, layers, etc... Next time with texture paste ? 😄 Thanks Mindy !
absolutely!
Lovely!
Love this card, Mindy! I just have distress ink, not oxide. I guess it will be a similar effect?

yes. and the regular distress inks will give you more vibrant colors. the oxides have more of a chalky-look.
Beautiful card. I love that vintage vibe. I’m confused on the Distress Pencils, they look like crayons instead of pencils.
They do not have the wax consistency of a crayon
