    I just set up the laser machine, after watching dozens of tutorials, I found this gem! Definitely look how to upgrade the wires set up... Mine was brand new, but they were already opening. Thanks for sharing and take all the time to teach!You are a great person!

    Magic! I have recently acquired an Atomstack A5 M50 machine and hate the poor cable management. You have just provided me an excellent solution. Thanks from a viewer in Australia.👍👍👍

    I added a drag chain to my Sculpfun S30 Pro and it's such a great improvement for many reasons. My chains are a bit oversized so at some point I'll get smaller ones to save some weight. My air assist tube and my wires were wobbling a lot at speed, plus my wires were rubbing on my enclosure no matter what I did and the the laser could have potentially cut the wire. With the new chain added I noticed accuracy improvements, it mainly just lets me run it a bit faster. Plus I have extra space now that wires aren't all over the place- was able to add some extra lighting along with some storage for my magnets/clips and it's plain just looks much nicer. I have my chain attached to the frame instead of the table using aluminum L extrusions, very similar to this setup other than that the aluminum acts as a rest so that instead of hanging it acts as a resting place for the chain and takes tension off of it- the frame is screwed down to the table with some L brackets but they're very easy to remove- that way I can replace the MDF underneath or get more Z height if I really need to. I've also got the exact same setup on the gangry with the L extrusion- no hanging, it rests in the L aluminum channel. You've certainly improved your setup- very nice! My only recommendation would be to add something to keep the chains from hanging.

    Awesome work and nice detailed video. I recently ordered an A10 Pro and wasn't fine with the cablemanagement. I instantly thought "someone must have built something about that" and I found your Thingiverse uploads. Exactly what I was looking for!! Thanks for designing and sharing for free!!! Looking forward to check if it fit's on the A10 pro.

    Great mod for cable management. I like your idea about the leg extensions. I will try them out and i was thinking maybe i could make a mod to have them telescopic to have different height over different materials. Great job and thank you for the 3d print files.

    Hi there!
    Just wanted to thank you for this solution. I have not used my Atomstack yet and I have the parts ready to install! I tried to print the parts myself, but the undercuts made really bad print, so I got them printed at Xometry and they came out great. Here goes.

    I'm strongly considering buying one of these X20's and the cable management was really turning me off. This is a great solution. Thanks for taking the time and effort to put this video together along with sharing the files.

    Just bought a Two Trees TTS 20w, cables are just a mess. A couple of clips and a some cable wrap that doesn't fit the clips and cables that are not long enough for the route they have it. So having three K40s with drag chain cable management it seemed obvious to do just this. I searched for someone who had done it to save me time working out how to best fit it. So thanks.
    Sadly this wont work for my TTS Pro 20w, the stepper hangs under the y axis rail and is only a few mm from the deck. So will have to raise the legs to get clearance. But your mounts, modded, will save me a lot of work, thanks.

    Outstanding work, this is a great help to solve the wiring issue for the AtomStack laser machine. I am an AtomStack X7 Pro 50w owner and recently upgraded my leaser extension aixs and your video will certainly be the right solution for the wiring issue I am facing. Thanks again for sharing this amazing creation 🙏

    I like the cable management idea, looks much neater. But what I really like is your leg mod idea. I have the R3 Roller and those included legs are crap. Maybe one day I may get a 3D printer and grab your file. Thanks for the video!

    Great mod! I plan on doing this to my new S20pro. I did have one thought - instead of splicing wires, why not get some mating connectors and make extensions for the cables.

    • @737mechanic
      @737mechanic  ปีที่แล้ว

      I was about to do just that. Then I decided to just splice them because I got lazy. Amazon had the crimpers and the connector kits that you need if you go that direction.

    Thanks for the codes for these drag chain holders. I have printed them and sadly the tongue on the fixing at the control end snapped off so I am going to use M3 bolts and nuts to hold the chain.

    This cable chains also exist in a version that can be opened to insert the wires. You don’t have to cut the plugs. “Igus” also has a model whereby one can insert the wire trough a slotted side. Model Z045 will be big enough… This company is producing/delivering worldwide.

    • @737mechanic
      @737mechanic  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The problem is the wires are not long enough when you put them in the drag chain so you have to either cut them or find extensions to make them long enough.

    Really nice video. I'm not really confident with doing the cable extension myself.
    Does buying molex cables with the same amount of pins work?
    I see two 6 pin connections with only the outer 2 and inner two used.
    And the end switch is just a 2 pin connector. Any chance you can add extension cables to your description?. Definitely worth the upgrade. Your machine looks really nice with the drag chains.

    • @737mechanic
      @737mechanic  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I will look again but when I made the video I could only find one ext cable and I can't remember what it was for because you need them for both the stepper motors and for the laser head.

    They do make XH PH2 & PH6 extensions (I believe that's the plug type) for like $1ea. Save someone some time splicing the wire. For the cost of X20, this should OEM. Thanks for the video, and the files!

    Thank you for your video. Your idea is really great. I planned to purchase a Atomstack x7 Pro, 50W and after watching your video I intend to also buy 10 x 15mm Cable Chain to organise the cables. Do you sell those "737Mechanic" brackets. If yes what is the price. Thank you.

      I do not see them because it takes a few hours for each one to print, There are services you can use that will print parts for you if you give them the stl file. So after you download the file look up "3d model print service" in google and see what is out there.

    Any update or thoughts on any way to use this without extending the wires? I think it really needs a drag chain (s10 pro) but I'm not keen on extending the wires. Maybe turn the slide on bracket around and have the drag chain attach in front of the stepper motor?

    • @mjsoltis
      @mjsoltis ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh yeah, outstanding work on your channel.

    • @737mechanic
      @737mechanic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Before I decided on this setup, I tried sizing everything up to work with the existing wiring without the need to extend them but nothing would work that allowed full travel of both X and Y axis. I was able to find an extension for one of the wires but without being able to find the other one I decided to simply extend both. I have thought about offering to make some extensions and offer them for a small price.

    • @franceschina5791

    • @M4trix42
      @M4trix42 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mjsoltis I know I'm late for that answer, but your idea is not how these dragchains work efficient. The attachment on the direkt facing side would cause a Z-shaped patern of the chain as soon as it isn't at max distance from homeposition. This could cause some issues during movement.

      Hi, I’ve just finished printing the parts and I have two points of note .
      1. The fit on the X/y axis is so tight it needs soft mallet to get it to fit and
      2. Have you the exact length of the chain you shortened them too? I ask to save getting the wiring done to the wrong length.
      Thanks
      Chris
