Pulling The Team Together
Upon arrival in Germany, Joe discovered four high-performing but disconnected managers working excessive hours without coordination. Despite having capable leadership, the unit suffered from inefficient processes and last-minute task completion, creating an unintentionally toxic work environment.
Setting The Tempo And Expectations
Joe developed a 90-day change strategy that included implementing aggressive timelines and clear processes for routine tasks. He launched the "Protect the Family Name" campaign to unify the team and introduced data-driven tracking systems, emphasizing that "if you're not tracking it, it's not important." His approach centered on making people feel "seen, heard, understood, and valued" (SHUV) while building sustainable processes.

The transformation resulted in managers gaining more time for actual leadership duties and improved team engagement. Joe's experience demonstrated that effective change management requires clear communication, measurable goals, and processes that outlast any individual leader's tenure.
