For me as a German, it was at first incomprehensible why the Navy was providing fire protection. Marine One is the radio call sign of a United States Marine Corps (USMC) aircraft carrying the President of the United States of America. That made it clear to me.
The task force usually has 1 engine, 1 arff foam truck, 1 foam engine, and a support unit. But the foam engine was out of service so navy filled in with their arff foam truck.
Is it that much of an emergency to cover air force one isn't t it pre-planned that they could stage prior to air force one s arrival instead of putting civilians lives at risk responding as an emergency
Damn, these units are extremely awesome!!
Thanks for the clip-as a retired Air Fire firefighter I always enjoy seeing clips and f ARFF rigs in action.
Were those Federal Firefighters on board that foam unit or Navy Damage Controlman (DC)???
DCFD provides standby for most fires, but when the Navy steps I believe is career civilan firefights based at the Navy Yard or Anacostia.
Thanks Penguin 😊🐧
I think I've seen a similar foam truck at the Hong Kong airport. Wonder if they're the same type :-?

i mean, it's probably more proximity than anything.
What is a US Navy Foam unit?
An airport crash rescue fire truck.
0:19 wow Eq2b!
Hey Navy, use the siren before entering the intersection.
US Navy form unit looks so small compared to DC fire department form unit
Looks like DC traffic was unimpressed and didn't want to get out of the way. 2 foam trucks...maybe the Navy is just training in case it's ever needed?
It does help when have on all of your emergency lights and siren. People already don't pay attention as it is.
They always go when marine one comes in
@@com2375 correct, that is their primary response
