  • This video tutorial by Noreen Crone-Findlay shows how to use a Lucet to make a cord similar to spool knitting. Lucets are wonderful tools that have been used for thousands of years. The Vikings made all kinds of cords with Lucets- for drawstrings, bag handles, shoelaces and many other things. This is the first of 4 videos in which Noreen shows Lucet cord techniques. One of the wonderful things about Lucets is that you can make a huge range of sizes of cords- if you want a thin cord, use thin threads. Want a thicker cord? Use thicker yarn, fabric strips or combinations of yarns and threads held together.

Your best video yet! Using a lucet will be much easier for my arthritic fingers with the tool. I also like that you're doing two loops at a time. It's revolutionary! LOL!

The lucet I use I made from a deer antler, and I love the variety of cord you can create! I love your palm lucet!

Neat! I'm thinking you could prob make your own potholder loops with nice wool instead of the cheap quality loops that are expensive to buy.

this is interesting and different that I've seen the turning and figure eight method. have you done it that way? I wonder if the cord weave looks any different
