  • Rich Williams explains how the transformers in Burl Audio converters help create a perfectly flat phase response. Without these transformers, recordings can lose their impact and realism when converted from analog to digital. He goes on to debunk the myth that transformers add color and tone. Similar to recording with analog tape, transformers are clear and detailed until pushed hard. Just like tape, overloaded transformers can add rich color to a recording, but they are just as capable of providing crisp, clean results.

Just bought a B2 Bomber ADC. The phase response explanation makes soo much sense. The low is defined and deep. The mids are crystal clear. The highs are smooth and open. I use Antelope converters as weel, but the Burl converter was the missing 5%. It sounds INCREDIBLE!
