I have been in that house's many a time on my Mojave phone booth adventures. Always fun to travel along with you as I doubt I will ever be out that way again. Thank you for all the effort you put into these productions.
It's just amazing how this house was at one time it's possible that a family might have lived in it on the other hand they just never finished it if it could only talk back to you it would just be amazing what really happened to it 😮
Stairs in my paternal grandmother's house were very steep and narrow like those you captured. Even as a young adult, climbing those stairs were a challenge.
Great video with this house amongst a forest of very old thriving Joshua. It seems that they thrive around 3500’-4000’ in the Mojave. I ventured south of Searchlight on my way to a rockhounding site and was amazed at the dense Joshua forest there. We found an area of pumice, obsidian(apache tears) and geodes. I found one the size of a basketball with many nodules covering the exterior. Evidently, no one had searched that area as it was completely weathered out of the vermiculite that at one time surrounded it. Gave it to my buddy for his rock garden and said don’t break it open. The exterior is a work of art. That was a great explore!
In that second house after looking at the cooling rack, you went into the other room and you could see someone walking outside through the slates!!! Spooky!!

Camped there outside the main house on 2/25/2024 -2/26/2024. The building is in poor shape, the secondary buildings are falling apart from the inside out due to roof leaks, ceiling is collapsing, etc. Quite a large house though in its day. There were some mason jars filled with apricots in the cellar that I did not see in your video. The concrete platform at 17:46 had a date of 1980 written into it and some initials.
If you're just as interested in sounds and voices, try these. There's a mail voice, I did wonder if someone was elsewhere but I think it's within the room, turn volume up with best headfones @7:13 ''why don't you.... ... '' and very plainly @8:09 there's a long low growl ? There are more as you'd expect but these were intriguing.
I’ve been through that area Cima, Goffs , Landfair, all the way up to Searchlight and surrounding areas …. To say that it’s a little slice of what “ Frontier Settlement life “ looked like , would describe the area perfectly. Hard life indeed to Eek out an existence in those conditions of mid to high desert , minimal resources , and harsh environments( wind , heat , minimal normal rainfall with occasional downpours , etc). Hard times for most who settled there with high hopes & dreams . Thanks for sharing this one . 👍
For those of us interested in visiting this area are there directions from a point of refrence?reference? I made it to the hoping there might be a location or us out of state visitors.
guess my post got deleted because I posted a link to a photo... I went about 18mos ago and the "machine shop" was still standing, returned last April to photograph the shed and it was fallen down. :( also the shed with the mill is in much worse shape and many of the tools that were around previously appear to be missing. Was the guy still living in his van on site here? I camped solo overnight to photograph throughout the night so it was a bit creepy.
Maybe you can tell me? Why was there plywood with small holes for windows. To me it would help keep the house cooler in the heat. It seems odd to me, no windows. Wow.
I love ❤️ these types of houses and if could l would restored them and I also love 😍 those places like this, in my opinión they are very beautiful and placeful
Lots of those Sear's houses 🏘 like Jim Walter's Homes 🏡 Later!! Like the internet of a bygone Erra Sear's Catalog's order anything even toilet paper if you ran out the Catalog doubled as toilet Paper little rough butt doable!!!; )😂😅

There was a video a year back something like "long forgotten homestead in the mountains of nevada" the building was pretty smoked but it had a great water supply

15:23 that old building was still standing in 2020 when we were there for a visit.
yeah i think it was there when i went as well. too bad/
Fascinating..my Mom was born in Mojave
That's pretty cool! Thanks for showing us the equipment up close as well💯 Always fascinating to see some great exploring- Thanks😊
glad it was spared the fire over here ... have stayed there before and hiked around in to the mountains some, awesome area thanks for taking me back

That was a great explore!
Incredibly find, my friend. That house had to have been built in the early 1900s. So cool.
If it's sears and robucks I'd say '27
First structure was sweet. All and all, really nice. Love the Joshua Trees. Thanks so much.
Sure looks like a Sears Roebuck house, check Sears Hazelton, it is one of the many models derived from that one.
it absolutely is. miner built it to try and make his wife comfortable being out in the desert.
A Sears house could probably be restored and should be.
Is this closer to Mojave road or closer to marl springs ?
In that second house after looking at the cooling rack, you went into the other room and you could see someone walking outside through the slates!!! Spooky!!
yup I saw that too 👻
Yes I seen something go by the boarded up window it looks like 2 sets of legs ?? Maybe a burro or wild horse was walking by or,👻hard to say ⛏️🇺🇸🤔
@@casedoumasr656 I’m thinking maybe he wasn’t there alone?
After I read this comment , I scrolled the video back to take a second look. Sure as shootin. Saw it too.

Thank you very much. I live in Alaska and your journeys are so different than I'm used to. 🙂
The EWU crew was there at night and only explored the first house. Nice to see more of the property during the day.
That corral/pen area on side of house - using that wire would be a perfect place to grow grapes. EDIT: Nailed it, the other houses were doing it.
Really enjoyed the ride. Thank you
Cool find! Love your presentation style, mellow voice and chill music!
I always make it to the end of your videos.
i enjoyed it; keep them coming. I love Desert Exploring.

I’d love to metal detect around those properties. Is that near the town of Mojave? Near mule road?
wow, that looks beautiful
great trip back in time, enjoying and being motivated from your explore...
Great show!
The mine with the conveyor looks to us like you could just walk right in to it!!!
Thumbs up on this ty for taking me through the desert ty I enjoyed it.

Good stuff man, that was one Hell of a winch, wow! Happy Trails!
That winch is just awesome and so is the other one!!!
That's the type of house that might have had a dumbwaiter especially considering those steep stairs. The house I grew up in from 1923 had one.
Nice little house. Interesting place. Thank you
Looking at the Cima Dome granitic batholith at 18:34. A large igneous intrusion that mineralized the surrounding rock with hydrothermal deposits.
I always enjoy your field trips!
I wish my property had a row of Joshua Trees to provide privacy for my house.
This is beautiful to me
I'm impressed you know a black widow web when you see one. Thanks for the video.
I was there back in Feb and that one mine is listed as the Death Valley Mine on Google Maps.

You don't find pocket door hardware like that anymore, lol.
Been interesting to see the mine tunnels
Not sure where you camped, but I went around the mine and camped by the can dump. Which I walked about 1/4 mile and found another incline shaft
What a great find.
a girl by the name of wonderhussy adventures made a video about this same place some years ago.neat place thanks for sharing
We're you alone on this exploration? because at around 8:02 you could see through the cracks of the boarded up window someone walk by
Looks like his reflection to me

Looked to be a chopping block in the kitchen of that first building. 1:14

Why that gives them a thrill I'll never know!!!
Great Video! Just Subbed
I can't believe that engine is still on that ball machine!!!
They need to be saved
You ever want someone to go with you, I'm retired and in fair condition, love to explore. Hit me up
How did they stay cool in the heat?
5:34 Is that white stuff hanging down wallpaper?

I thought it was to keep birds, bat insects out? Your guess is as good as mine.
Are the other buildings still in back of the houses? Like the barn and pens? Those were oddly cool!
What did they mine there?
broken dreams. this one was pretty much a total scam sold and resold to others who made almost nothing
Good lad.
Really like the video content, However, .......

Hantavirus ground zero! Hope you wore a mask!
why houses back then were more comfortable than the junk we see today?
Does anyone know where this is in the Mojave?
The first one looks more preserved then abandoned. No dust on porch or table i call bs
Too bad someone don't buy it and restore it.
Please don't leave creepy dolls, or any other stuff for that matter, in mines. 🤡
How much do think they would take for the butcher block? Really interested. OK, this is an edit. At 3:45 in, does anyone else hear a females voice?
No, sir.
