I really love all seasons. Each of them has its own merits. Autumn has the best weather in my opinion. Winter has snow. Spring has pretty flowers. And summer has vacations and swimming in the sea. I sometimes try to choose which one I prefer but in the end I just like them all equally.
Winter is the season that resonates with me the most. Where I grew up there's a good mix of evergreens and annuals/perennials and we used to get regular snow days. Seeing the change, finding the beauty in muted colors and a quieter woods. The bright sun reflecting off the snow. Families playing in the snow. Struggling to stay warm against the harshness of particularly cold winters. If Summer is the season of hope, Winter is the season of spirit. The human spirit and it's ability to find joy and love even amidst the struggles of winter, a season associated with death and hardship. It's genuinely beautiful and I'm never as happy with life as I am during the winter days.
"Feeling happy to see other people's happiness." That is the best feeling. =) I'm glad you enjoy summer and I hope you have a wonderful one in the UK. It gets up in the 100s here in Texas (37.7 C), so I will be counting the days until fall and cooler temps. Lol. This video was so beautiful to watch, and your voice is very relaxing, which does make it hard to imagine how much stress you have about your future. As someone twice your age, I can tell you when you're my age you'll look back and remember those summer walks with your girlfriend far more fondly than any work achievements you accomplish. Yes, make time for work, but living your life is the important bit. You might feel like you've fallen behind because of the goals you set for yourself, but you're actually way ahead of the curve. Be kind to yourself and enjoy being young and healthy while it's yours to enjoy. :)
I absolutely LOVE the summer! Love everything about it. Lighter in the mornings, Lighter in the evenings. No cold to contend with.. gimme that 30 Degree heat! Plenty of cold drinks and sun cream and I am Happy! I work as an Outdoor Activity Instructor and the past week has been glorious! Scorching hot sunshine, I have a mighty tan! Finish the day with a refreshing cold shower and a Cold cider from the fridge, BBQs in the evening sun! And the colours too, I think this video walk captures everything I love and about summer, Lush green grass/trees/vegetation, Deep blue skies.. It was a joy to film, shorts and T-shirt, Ice packs in my bag.. I'll always prefer this season to the other darker colder seasons.
Both an outdoor activity instructor, and a walk enthusiast! I guess anyone doing those things would adore summer, great to be able to make the most of it like that. I've spent too much of the weather stuck indoors, but hopefully not when it next gets warm again. Typical Brtiain to be 30 one week, and then wrapped up in a jumper here the next 😂
Have you ever thought about posting your audio's on spotify or another platform as podcasts? It would be great to listen to your videos on the way to work or as background!
Also, don't worry so much about turning twenty six. I'm forty two. God, you're just a baby compared to me! Focus on enjoying life. Don't put so much pressure on yourself to achieve things on a certain timetable. It will happen when it's meant to happen.
Ah, no I have never picked up that sense of urgency you have to achieve things, however, I was your age once and I think we all feel that way at that age. It's great to achieve things but it's also ok to fight less and just enjoy those little things. Sometimes you can strive so much you forget how to enjoy them. My favorite part is the colors return to the world. There's a scent, the sun is out for longer (and I'm narcoleptic so when winter descends, the struggle to stay awake is even harder). I try to find something in each season but summer is for sure my favorite.
Despite being hyper reactive to heat, and living in Spain that can be aweful in summer, it still is a season full of very special things. The peace, the summer nights with your friends. There is something magical about those times that you never forget
Summer reminds me of balmy nights in the New Forest under the stars with bats flying overhead. Also fish and chips at the beach, watching dogs run around like crazy.
Born in summer too and when it's not 30 degrees or hotter, it can be nice. But autumn stole my heart. All the colors, none of the dampness of spring and early autumn especially is still pleasantly warm on top of it too and you can still go hiking on top of all that easy while the colors remind you of it not lasting forever and you better enjoy it before winter comes. Also perhaps because I used to associate it with going back to school/work, but now no longer so the overall feeling is that things have changed for the better for me.
keep up the great work man! & I can relate to the restlessness of trying to accomplish things, we can't forget to value what's around us though. Which is alsp why therr is nothing like summer to me. It's the season where everything seems to come back to life again and I love it.
The summer is alway so intense for me growing up. The sun is always so aggressive. People are more argumentative and rumbustious. It feels like there is no relief from then heat. I’m a very empathetic person so I don’t just feel my discomfort, but the discomfort from others. It’s a time of anxiety and belligerence. When I then of the summer, I think of something my mom use to say to me, “you can always put on more clothes to keep you warm, but you can only take off so much to cool you down.” Now, of course, I live in a different region of the world than you so that’s a major factor on our differing opinions on the meaning of summer. You note that where you are, there are only a few days with clear skies. That’s something I take for granted. I just wanted to get my own thoughts out.
My birthday is the first day of Summer. It's always been my favorite season. My kiddos love it too. I love the sentiment of feeling the oneness & unity of just enjoying a beautiful sunny day outside. I can't wait to get back to that someday. Unfortunately we are in lock down still, but we have a large garden & it both feeds us & keeps us connected to the green & growing. Regarding turning 30: don't sweat it! I turned 32 on Monday & I am so glad I'm not in my 20s anymore. A lot of things I used to stress about have gone away & I am so much more comfortable in my skin. I still haven't done all the things, but I've let go of the stress & urgency. Being 30 rocks. Age is very much a state of mind. If you think you're old, than you will be. I have friends & family younger than me that have aged themselves more than the years can account for. Just nurture your inner child & keep falling in love with the things that make you feel joy, like a beautiful summer day. 💚💚💚
I grew up not too far from Death Valley, so I have a very different impression of summer. I dread it. It's so hot that it kills the plants. There's a certain smell to the dead, baked grass that mixes with the petrified dog (and sometimes human) feces that permeates the atmosphere. Rather than colors seeming brighter, everything is dusty, washed out and dead. The heat is inescapable and you can't wear much more than the equivalent of undergarments. In the city, the extreme dry heat makes people crazier than usual. Everything seems louder. It's complete sensory overload I look forward to the day I can experience winters that are cold, dark and brutal enough for me to appreciate summer. In the meantime, I'll savor every moment of the rare rainy days we have.
As a mexican, the Summers i live Is different. For me Summer Is a Time in which Is always raining. For me the climate and feeling you describe happens in spring.
Being portuguese living in denmark, summer is my life. I yearn for sun/summer all year long. At home winter is better, the green and small streams are so beautiful. But in denmark I get those all year long.
I love summer time to but in my older age I’m enjoying spring and fall much better. I’ve become severely allergic to the sun, 10 minutes of direct sunlight is enough to give me skin cancer.
Summer is a big trigger season for me I have asbergers and I suffer from a lot of anxiety and depression other than that it’s fun because I hang out with my friends more and we have alot of party’s
Lamentations 3:22-23 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Listening to him talk about how hot it gets in the summer in England when there is no AC and houses are built to conserve heat in the winter, I went and looked up London's weather forecast for today, and I thought, "You're shitting me!" The forecasted highs this week were all in the fifties and sixties. I'm an American, living in the Southeast region where we regularly have highs in the eighties and sometimes nineties in the summer. Due to climate change, this has continued to happen into September and October these past several years. I despise the heat. I've lived in the same city all my life and have never gotten used to it. I assume that the summer solstice is on the same day in the UK as it is in the US? I assume that the reason why you're still having such mild temperatures over there isn't just because the solstice is farther away? You talked as though it's coming up pretty soon there as well. God, if summers stay in the fifties, sixties and seventies in the UK, then you guys don't know how lucky you are! But then again, I suppose that if your summer is basically our spring, then that means that your spring is the equivalent of three extra months of our winter, and your actual winter is extra cold. And I don't like the cold, either. I'm the dark-haired equivalent of Goldilocks. I like it not too hot, not too cold, but just right.
Ahh that's because you're forgetting how incredibly erratic British weather is. The day before I recorded this video, I was in work for a 90 degree day, going by fahrenheit measurements, the next day it was down to 60. Today it's 55. Next week it's 80. British weather is annoying unpredictable
@@mylittlethoughttree Ah, okay. I had no idea that British weather fluctuated so much during the summer. I don't know how I'd deal with that. On the one hand it would be annoying to deal with all of those changes in temperature. On the other hand, at least I'd get some days here and there with highs in the fifties or sixties, instead of one three-month unbroken block of 80 degree suckage.

I adore summer. Heat doesn't influence me much. It is entirely my time of a year!
