I am so very happy you're here! Medical school does not teach doctors about menopause. It's really a shame. We need more doctors like you who ensure they have the education to help menopausal women.
Great class in learning about the grading and staging of Endometrial Uterine Cancer. Yup!…class is dismissed but I’ll be back next week for more. Thank you so, so much. I appreciate your passion to teach what I need to know. Love to you! 💕💕
Present and ready! I'd give you some of the yummy monster cookies I made, but they're not vegan.... I follow another practicing gyno who wrote a book. She's good, but doesn't go into the minute details you do. My cancer was in a polyp, which I discovered was quite rare. It was Stage 1a. I'll need to look at the grade on the report. I'm kinda thinking when the ultrasound was done they saw something, but wasn't exactly sure if it was. Question: do they always remove the ovaries as well, or so some get to keep their ovaries?
Handling of the ovaries depends on many different things that are specific to each individual situation. This is true of surgeries for both benign and malignant conditions.
Can a cancer spread from uterus to just anywhere in the body but the ovary and cervix are unaffected? As in stage 2 and 3 atw nor there ? Just stage 1 and then stage 4?
Can one have a grade 1 endometrial cancer and a high stage at the same time, or does the grade 1 indicate that it hasn't spread and it would then be a low stage cancer? I have endometrial cancer at a grade 1. Going in for a total abdominal hysterectomy in 2 days.
There are many different kinds of uterine cancer. They differ in terms of the KIND of cell that becomes cancerous. Adenocarcinoma is the most common kind of uterine cancer. Adenocarcinoma is cancer of glandular cells. And your uterus functions as a gland. Endometrioid uterine cancer is cancer of a different kind of cell. It is less common than adenocarcinoma. And it usually has a worse prognosis. If you want me to help you understand YOUR uterine cancer, I can do so in a consultation. You can schedule at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I do them all online.
I have another question. What does it mean usually " Subcentrimetric left paraartic nodes " . Can this be benign? Even though if the person has endometrial adenocarcinoma?
Thank you for spreading your knowledge. As a graduated medical student I am deeply grateful for these videos.

Thank you i needed this
You are so very welcome, my dear.
Well, after my D&C, it turns out I had a polyp. No cancer!
So now you understand all this!
@@MenopauseTaylor I wouldn't say that, lol! Still plenty to learn!
Can a cancer spread from uterus to just anywhere in the body but the ovary and cervix are unaffected? As in stage 2 and 3 atw nor there ? Just stage 1 and then stage 4?
All cancers can spread to other organs. That's what the word "metastatic" means. Stage 4 is metastatic.
Good video, thx!

Grade and stage are two completely different things. You can have any grade with any stage.
Is endometrioid adenocarcinoma and uterine cancer are same?
There are many different kinds of uterine cancer. They differ in terms of the KIND of cell that becomes cancerous.

What does it mean when they say "Serous Carcinoma of endometrium considered as Differential Diagnosis"..?
"Differential Diagnosis" refers to all the possibilities for a particular disease. It could be this one or that one.
@@MenopauseTaylor thank you so much for answering my questions.
@@Mimmai It's my pleasure.

Hi.. is there any update on this question?
First one here. ❤
Yep! You remind me of me. I was always the first person in class. (I'm a super nerd.)
