    I've been using Adobe Illustrator for a few years now. This software absolutely walks over Illustrator. And at a significantly lower price. This should be industry standard immediately!

    My jaw was literally hanging open for the second half of the video. There are so many ways to get these awesome designs and I love the creativity you display. I got into Affinity Designer for sewing, so I'm not a graphic designer... just wanted to compliment you. I also have some ideas about how to do a Y Full Bust Adjustment, so thank you for that!

      @ArtistWright  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ha I love to hear that it's helping people out. Affinity is so fun! I actually just had to Google the full bust adjustment to see what you meant. You can totally use Affinity for this

    Well this was a lifesaver. This was a feature I used a lot in Illustrator, and having moved to Affinity I was wracking my brain trying to figure out how to get the same functionality. But the compound is even better.

    Another Excellent Video.
    .
    At point 2:58 in the video, selecting circle, triangle and back plate and choosing "Create Compound" des not work, resulting in circle and triangle to go BACK of the "back plate". While holding Alt. key and choosing substract in Boolean operation does the job.

      @@nadahkhi when you click on the menu 'layer' then 'create compound' it will automatically use the 'Add' geometry option. So in this instance, you would go to your compound shape in the layers panel, and on those shapes (circle and triangle) you will see a plus icon, click on that and change it to a subtract. hope that helps

    I was using Inkscape until I came across the channel of ArtistWright, then I brought Affinity Designer. Thank you so much for your channel and converting me to Affinity Designer. I hope they add the image trace or trace bitmap option soon.
    Love the 1948 Buick Streamliner tutorial. Would love to see a video for the full process.
    Going through all the other videos one by one and learning a lot it also helps that the tutorials are clear and concise.
    Can I ask a question to create a water colour background can this only be achived through watercolour background packs and brushes?
    Thank you.

    • @ArtistWright
      @ArtistWright  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Rahul I appreciate that. I certainly hope they add an image trace option that would be amazing.
      The 1948 Buick Streamliner, the full process would take alot of time to do. But for more complex designs like that I will try do one in future.
      You could probably create a vector version of watercolour but it would take too much time versus using a watercolour brush (or creating your own brushes)

    • @RahulSharma-mo1kr
      @RahulSharma-mo1kr 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ArtistWright Thank you so much for the reply. Right I will have to find a video that shows how to use the watercolour brushes to create a watercolour background affect. As the POD partner that I am using wants all designs created in CMYK then exported as a jpg in RGB colour profile. Unforunately Inkscape lacks CMYK colours but gives you the watercolour background effect.
      Looking forward to your next video.
      Regards,
      Rahul.

    Is there a way to do this in the iPad version? If I create a compound shape first via the layers panel and then select the Boolean options, the only options are add and divide; if I don’t create a compound shape first and just subtract, no compound shape layer appear in the layers panel, just the shape minus whatever has been subjected from it. (I love Affinity, but their official guides are so basic as to be useless in some cases!)

    • @samorimo
      @samorimo ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ArtistWright for example in your video with the shark at the end where you have to clip the “bottom” of the shark inside the body. When I did it the color went inside however I still saw the outline(crazy excess) outline showing. Yours showed but only when you selected or hovered over it

    • @samorimo
      @samorimo ปีที่แล้ว

      At exactly 1:09:39 the line that appears outside the shark in the video. Mine just remain visible

    • @ArtistWright
      @ArtistWright  ปีที่แล้ว

      You are clipping that shape inside of the shark shape, in V1 you do what I did in the video. In V2 you just drag that layer directly onto the shark layer (in the layers panel). If you are still seeing that outline after doing that, then your layer isn't clipped inside of the shark. Look closely at what's happening in the layers panel. Hope that helps

    @ArtistWright That "Xor" is pronounced "x or" - letter "x" and english word "or".
    (It is a name of mathematical logical operation. It's actual name is "Exlusive Or". XOR is just kind of an acronym. And Affinity devs managed to write it wrong to make it even more confusing :)
