Thank you for the great video. Unfortunately the result was "Storage Media Not Found"??? The Sat Nav works OK but certain post codes cannot be found! Is there anything I can do to update my system please?
Upgraded from 4.0.2 in a 2014 Clio to 4.1.0. I quick formatted the usb drive before use (FAT32). The link provided for the update portal downloads an older version of the toolkit program, it prompted me to update once installed which I did. I made sure the engine was running and followed the steps in the video provided. After installing, the system rebooted and got stuck on the boot screen with the Renault and LG logo. After waiting 20 mins or so I turned off the car, removed the usb stick and turned the car on again. The system began to boot, showed the progress of the installation along with a warning not to remove the usb drive or turn off the car (I didn't put the usb drive back in as it was progressing with the installation without it). There was a few minutes where I was afraid I'd bricked my radio, but then it completed the installation and everything works perfectly!
@@teionbrooks4020 I’d say once its fully loaded up its responsive without any lag. On turning on the radio its about 15 seconds until it starts playing the radio, another 15 seconds it’s a bit laggy, another 15 seconds after that its connected to my phone and has access to media. In total its about 45 seconds from pressing the on button to all features activating, after that it runs really well. For me it was well worth the upgrade as the version I had, 4.0.2, was terrible, messed up graphics, missing buttons, very glitchy. From memory, 4.0.2 wasn’t even listed as an official release, I can only assume a small number of radios must have bypassed quality control and left the factory with non release software after a failed update.
Where is the link to download the toolbox???? Renault's website is infuriating, they just keep saying "oh you have to download toolbox" BUT THERE'S NO LINK ANYWHERE. Where do I get this thing??
What's the last update for the media nav in 2015 renault captur, it shows as 4.03, can it be updated to a newer version or is that the last version? If it can is it worth updating for some new features or crucial updates? What will i be missing?

Hello, I am trying to fix my parents car. I cant access the navi options, it asks to agree but you cant select it. Also, when you set the time for the clock, it doesnt stay set. I have also noticed that the cruise control options on the steering wheel dont work. Any suggestions? We have rang a renault garage and they just said that some cars dont have the option, but this seems off to me as why would it have the functions on the radio, and the clock should be a thing in every car. I tried the usb and it wont even read it. Thank you

@@N0Di90 hi, im really sorry but no. I drove it into a renault garage and they had no clue. Said id have to book it in at like 70 - 90 euro an hour. One chap was tried, he clicked it a few times to try get a factory reset and no luck. He recond some chip was missing but i dont think so, i looked online and found no information about it. In the end, i bought an android head unit and installed it. If you go that rout yourself, make sure to get a double fakra antenna adaptor for the radio stations, one that runs of 12volt power. The first one i got didnt work. It sucks that renault isnt very helpful with these at all. Parents have since bout a renault kadjar, beautiful car, but again, having issues with the radio not powering on at all this time. The dealer that sold it is trying to fix it but no luck yet. Renault wanted 1700 euro to replace it, rediculious. Since its still under waranty we are waiting to see if the private dealer can have it fixed, but other than that its back to an android unit. Renault should be offering free fixes for these. Quick google search shows forums of people with rlink radio issues. It sucks as the cars are so nice to drive. Only other thing i can think is go to a scrap yard or breaker and buy a used one. Just make sure you get a code for it because again renault, you cant plug and play.

It worked but got a problem at the end, when I put back my USB card it seems not to be loading. Even 30min later still the screen "Software Update". Any advice ?
@_madison_s unfortunately no, even the assistance wasn't able to help. I still can't upload it. Plus I have a problem with the memory for the radio, after I turn off the car it keep erasing itself 🤷♀️ So if you ever find a solution I'll be glad to hear it 😊

What happened when you follow these instruction to the letter and it wipes your uk map rendering the satnav useless? Have completed the “contact is” details form the help page and they just don’t reply.

I’ve just tried to update mine…it went through the update and then stayed on the renault logo screen for nearly an hour. I had to turn the engine off as it was getting late. I’ve just started the car up again and it is still stuck on the logo screen! What do i do?!

You download the Software Update through the Media Nav Toolbox software. Download that (link is in the description) and then repeat the process shown in the video.
I followed every step but still it won’t update. After I press update on the media nav the progress bar stays dark grey meanig no progress was made. Any help?

If you had an iPad or iPhone you would have a lightening to usb lead in order to charge them, but for a Mac you would have to buy one. The downside of using something from a manufacturer that refuses to comply/use industry standards so they can charge excessively for leads etc.

Maybe you should be format usb stick on FAT32 or Ntfs.

It says no media file in USB and when I update and done it still maps from 2012
when I go into navi I cant seem to select the agree button. does it have to be a 6gb usb key? I used a 4gb and it said the usb stick is not recognized.

Free wherever you bought car. I.e UK or where ever. Other updates that are charged are for foreign maps or extras.

I have a Renault captur 2012 0.9 and the sat nav won't connect to my Samsung Galaxy Note 20 ultra mobile Bluetooth. It gives me a long digit code which doesn't work I even changed the code it then syncs to my mobile device but still won't connect. Any advice?

When it's time, you get a notification when you are using the GPS.
What happened when you follow these instruction to the letter and it wipes your uk map rendering the satnav useless?

I’ve just tried to update mine…it went through the update and then stayed on the renault logo screen for nearly an hour. I had to turn the engine off as it was getting late. I’ve just started the car up again and it is still stuck on the logo screen! What do i do?!

The link to download the update software isn't in the description!
You download the Software Update through the Media Nav Toolbox software. Download that (link is in the description) and then repeat the process shown in the video.
I followed every step but still it won’t update. After I press update on the media nav the progress bar stays dark grey meanig no progress was made. Any help?

You will need to purchase a lightening to usb lead. These are provided with all iPhones and iPads in order to charge them.
You can't download the utility to an apple product therefore can't update. Sucks.
Buy a PC.

If you had an iPad or iPhone you would have a lightening to usb lead in order to charge them, but for a Mac you would have to buy one. The downside of using something from a manufacturer that refuses to comply/use industry standards so they can charge excessively for leads etc.
I have a mac too. You can get a windows virtual machine running on a mac quite quickly

What a joke 🤣🤣🤣 I got latest update on my capture 2015 and what do you think ? The latest map is 2017 !!!! At least for Uk wont recognise any post code ? Wondering if i did something wrong but reading lot of people having this issue, then.... . I know you have also payd options but in this case I am asking myself .... Worth to buy an EV car as at technology chapter you don't represent very well? Also Google Maps is free but it is a shame to use my mobile along with a 7or 9" screen
