    Good to see you again, Stella.
    I like to use a light coating of silicone or dielectric grease in spark plug boots. It protects the boot spring from corrosion and also makes it easy to remove the boot in the future.
    I get that you were saving the owner money, but I would have changed that oil anyway because saving in the short term could cost her more in the long term.
    I hope she learned her lesson on lending power equipment! That guy made multiple mistakes she can’t afford!

    Nice job Stella, I have a lady that brings her mower to me regularly during cutting season. She lets one of the neighborhood kids use it and he always breaks something
    or mows gravel driveways with it. I told her what to do to keep it from happening but then she says its the only chance she gets to visit with me. So I just keep fixing it. 🤣

    A friend of my Mom had a guy who cuts her grass with her mower and abused it like this. She asked me to Winterize it and I found the tabs on the blade adapter broken off (scared me to death when I started it), loose bolts on one side of the mower at the deck, which had caused both bolts holding the top and bottom handles to flatten. Tons of grass underneath from mowing wet grass and a few holes in the front of the deck as a result. Wheels at all different heights.
    I got it all straightened out for her, bolts tightened or replaced, new adapter, wheels at proper height, grass scraped out, new oil, filter and spark plug, cables lubed . . . and told her to never let that guy touch her mower again! She's got a neighbor kid who cuts her grass now and the mower stays in relatively good shape.

    Great video! Two little points; to wash the grass off, use the black/green nozzle on the side - turn the engine on and connect it to your hose pipe and, mention how much oil you add. Not having a plug to drain the oil completely, you need to add only 10/12 oz and check it for more. When new, it takes 20 oz.

      If it has been sitting for more than a month or so with ethanol laced fuel, you'll need to clean the carb, flush the fuel tank and fuel lines, and replace it with fresh non-ethanol fuel. Check the air filter is clean as well as the spark plug is not fouled.

      I don't have that particular mower, but generally speaking if yours is NOT a front wheel drive, use the correct sized socket and ratchet to loosen and re-attach. If your mower does have front wheel drive, you might have to juggle a backing plate and maybe a few more washers to sync the drive gear back to the teeth on the wheels. Either way, just be mindful of any loose washers or spacers that you need to replace.

      Good afternoon lawn mower lady. I have this mower and I loaned it to a firefighter friend of mine and I got it back yesterday and I tried it today and the red handle is almost impossible to pull back now. It's not moving freely anymore and I disconnected the cable and pull the cable and that works just fine. My friend said he didn't touch anything but I don't believe him LOL. So while I had the cable disconnected from the red handle I just tried to pull the red handle back on its own and it's the same problem. Any chance you could post a video or give me an idea how to put the red handle back in in the right order so that it moves free back and forth? It's definitely set up with the cable side of the red handle on the left but when I put it in I've tried 10 times and every time I think I have it and then I go to pull the handle back it feels like I'm going to bed in the red handle in half

      Slightly different mower, same engine here: th-cam.com/video/8qic4cARD2E/w-d-xo.html Towards the end I show adjusting the RPM higher. Basically you need to bend the bracket where the governor return spring terminates. More tension on the spring = higher RPM. I aim for about 3000 RPM. There are some apps you can get on your phone that will get you in the neighborhood. If it sounds like its revving crazy too high, it probably is. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

      Depends on which engine is on your mower. If it's a Honda it should be a NGK BPR5ES. If a Briggs & Stratton engine, it's either a Champion RC12YC (newer engine models) or Champion RJ19LM on older models. I suggest removing the existing plug and order based on what's in the machine now (that's assuming its the original plug)

    I have the TroyBilt TB200 mower with the same problem. I removed the carb and took it apart and cleaned all the parts and then assembled it and installed it. Mower still won't start. I used some starting fluid and it started on the first pull but only ran until all the starting fluid was used up. The fact that it will start tells me I can eliminate the spark plug, wiring and magnito. Since it takes spark and fuel to make an engine run the problem must be on the fuel side. I had emptied the fuel tank of all the old gas and added new gas, so it is not a gas problem. Must still be a problem with the carb. Do you have any ideas what to try next?

      Certainly look at the auto choke mechanism, and no shame in opening up that carb for another look and see. Does fuel flow when you take off just the bowl and open the fuel tap?

      @spuddy_bud ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheLawnmowerLady The auto choke mechanism is mechanical and appears to work off of heat from the engine. It looks fine. Fuel is flowing fine from the tank because I have taken the carb off four times and each time the bowl has fuel in it. If the fuel tap is the shut off valve this mower does not have one. There is just a short piece of hose from the fuel tank to the carb.

      @@spuddy_bud This does not sound like the Honda Engine shown in this video if you have no fuel tap. Still could be a fuel delivery issue. Does fuel flow freely through the carb with the bowl off? That's different than "the bowl has fuel in it" when you take off the bowl.

      @@TheLawnmowerLady This is a TroyBilt mower (TB200) with a B&S engine. There is not fuel shut-off. If I remove the bowl from the carg gas keeps running out.

      I agree, but sometimes its hard to say no. I advise, especially with 2-stroke gear, to send a fuel can with the right gas/oil mix ratio if lending it out to family or friends. I appreciate you watching!

    If it fits can i put an mtd riding lawn mower blade on an mtd push mower? I see the one from the rider is wider but it is the proper length.

    • @TheLawnmowerLady
      @TheLawnmowerLady  ปีที่แล้ว

      Wider blade = more mass. The engine will work harder to turn the blade.

      The oil usually only last one year in Australia not having snow so 12 months of mowing less in winter, the Honda usually needs a change for domestic use with a new spark plug and air filter.
