    Oil filter cover has a 13mm plastic drain plug... Supposed to be drain before using the 32 mm socket to get filter out. Otherwise thumb up from me. I find it easier to use ramps under front wheels tho...

    Great video , easy to follow step by step .I would recommend wearing a clear glass eye protection as debris can fall on your eye when removing the under tray and working on the engine when underneath the car.

    If anyone looking at this to be able to change the oil and filter on the Alltrack, there’s a slight difference in what tools you need to remove the cover under the car. At least on my 2018 there were seven T25 (4 on left side and 3 on right side when looking at the car from the front) and instead of the T45 it’s seven 13mm bolts. Three in the back and two in each corner on the front. Still super easy to remove though. The rest is basically the same, and as others pointed out, use the 13mm drain plug before removing the filter.

      hi, is it 13mm bolt with hex insert, or regular bolt, that you need a ratchedt/spanner for?

    Nice video but before you take it out the filter you should remove a small bolt near filter too drinkers all oil from the filter body and spillage will will be smaller😉🙂 Waiting for another helpful videos about Passat B8👍 Thanks and take care👍

    No entiendo por qué utilizaron 2 medidas diferentes para tornillos de esa pieza de plástico...es decir, podían haber utilizado una diferente para cada uno de los tornillos.
    I don't undestand why they used two different sizes of torx bolts in that plastic cover piece...I mean, they could have easily used one different for each one of the bolts.

  • @wiktormarski5677
    @wiktormarski5677 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great ! It helped me a lot. I'm just wondering what is the plug next to the oil filter that you need to detach? I was struggling to take it off and eventually made it. Maybe some kind of sensor...

  • @ronbarker6075
    @ronbarker6075 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You missed the 13mm to drain the oil filter before you dumped it everywhere. I'd add a funnel to your, "tools list" to avoid a mess up top also.

    ATTENTION: the 3 bolts holding the cover in the back are T45 and NOT T40!!! I own at 2015 Passat and didn‘t pay enough attention resulting in a stripped bolt und 1h additional work to get it out.
    Furthermore, always use stands, never let the car rest on a jack only - super dangerous!

    • @daveys
      @daveys ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I echo your comments about working on a car raised only by a jack. Very dangerous practice and should never be done. If the jack fails it becomes a giant press. I’ve seen cars resting on people before and it doesn’t look nice.

    • @stefstefanovic4810
      @stefstefanovic4810 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Davor it means like he said! Znači od minuma do maximuma na šipci za mjeriti ulje je 1 litra. Ako je recimo ulja ima do pola na indikatoru šipke za mjerit ulje to znači da Vam fali za nadolijat 0.5 l ulja(iako niti to nije kritično, kritično je kad dođe do minimuma na šiki za ulje e tad treba jednu litru nalijat unutra.)

  • @MildlyCurious
    @MildlyCurious ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You made a big mess improperly removing the oil filter. You are supposed to drain the housing before unscrewing the filter housing. There is a small plastic bolt that you unscrew at the bottom in order to drain in properly. Thats also why you got two rubber seals in the package.
