Ben, a clear concise review. Looking forward to watching the 4K release as it will include an extended cut of the film. Off topic just watched the Salem’s Lot remake. Have to say I was thoroughly entertained and the 2 hour running time flew by. The pacing of the film was excellent, certainly no filler. 8/10 👍🏻

I was wondering when you would review this film. I'm a huge vampire fan so anything that bites and can't come out during the day I'm all in on.

I really liked this movie. Bill nailed the role, and the best Dracula movie since "Last Voyage of the Demeter" IMO.

Ben, you never disappoint me. I've seen so much refuse posted about this film, it's been difficult to keep away from any reviews, but when I saw you posted one, I knew I had to at least get your opinion. Thank you!

Great film with an early Universal feel. Many did not think the vampire was scary enough. I disagree, I think the Barlow look, has now been overdone with Kinski's version, Shadow of the Vampire, the 2024 Salem's Lot, and even the Nun thrown in... For me Shreck's 1922 Rat faced vampire beats them all, and would of loved to seen an exact recreation of that image. Great Review.

after watching this incredible film in theatre, coming back to your comments and wise reviews... Do you think, at the risk of raising a firestorm, that LOL Robert Eggers could have been the one to raise Salem's Lot to prominence again? as a modern not better but in someways equal approach similiar to our beloved Tobe Hooper one? of course with out STUDIO fuc..ry.

    • @BoogeyManBen

@@sammyp-s2s I think Eggers taking on Salem’s Lot would be something that would be very different from all other adaptations. The thing I like about Eggers is that visually he makes the audience truly feel they are in the time the film is taking place. Language , costume, etc. It all is on point. I do hope they leave the Salem’s Lot property alone at this point but given his track record I like to think the studio would have trusted his vision and left him alone. Again, the issues Gary Dauberman ran into was the regime change at Warner brothers. David Zaslav is the reason his film was stalled and then just thrown out on streaming.

Hey Ben...I realy like the film alot and also a fan of The Witch. I have a take on this movie and I wonder what you think. Do you think Lilly Depp character is surffering from schizophrenic and epilepsy and the belief in vampires falls in folk lore and the black plague. when Orlock came to town the rats are there. the towns people would dig up the graves and see what they perceived as vampies . The graves were dusturbed and plague was spred and it fuled the vampire attacks... could the bitesfrom Orlock really be rats. and what we see in this move is also what they fear in old town citzens folklore. This is a therory on what could be playing out in a subtle beats in the background of the film.
