- That’s why we’ve introduced Live Electronic Line Calling: advanced technology more accurate than the human eye 🎯
= more consistent calls, no matter the conditions.

About the Official ATP Tour TH-cam Channel:
As the global governing body of men’s professional tennis, the ATP’s mission is to serve tennis. We entertain a billion global fans, showcase the world’s greatest players at the most prestigious tournaments, and inspire the next generation.
this changes the game as no human would call that first ball in and the mark under review would call it out too. so this system is making the court play bigger simple as that.
Hence why they haven't used Hawkeye on clay yet.
Surprisingly I called it in. It felt like it hit the tape for me, but yes I cannot argue the need for electronic line calling.
this was their opportunity to get the Slomo guys smh. BUT electronic line calling is huge for clay courts
Aside from this, i have been asking Tennis Tv to implement 120fps streaming for ages. 60fps is simply not enough for tennis where the ball usually travels at 100+Km/h.
Tennis doesn't need high resolution or high bitrate, just higher framerate to keep up with the game, let alone determine if the the ball was in or out. Cost wise, they just need to change the main camera.
Great idea, they're always talking about making the ball 'more visible' but that's all due to the fps making everything impossible to track properly.
When the fast and nearly horizontal ball is approaching the ground and the first tiny parts of ball hair are barely touching the line (while the ball still travels forward at altitude 1cm above the surface), it should not yet count as a landing point. The out mark in that case is accurate, because the mark starts where the ball has actually landed and made impact on the clay. If such balls will be counted in, the court will be enlarged by like 5cm, which makes a difference
This is by no means a convincing demonstration. How many times have we seen a clear mark that very obviously contradicted the ELC?
Poor calibration is common on all surfaces but more embarrassing on clay.
Super true!
So basically, umpires have missed thousands and thousands of calls over the years relying on ball marks on clay. I wonder how many big match outcomes would be different if this technology were in place
Tournaments should still have foxtenn to challenge the electric calls as it’s proved to be incorrect when not properly calibrated.
BULLSHIT at :20 when the official review shows a skid mark that is at a 45' angle with the line, when the ball was fired STRAIGHT AT THE LINE!!! Then "we filmed the same shot...." they show the ball touching the line in frame by frame, BUT NEVER SHOW THE MARK from that shot!!!
Thank god for this. So tired of umpire's error that can ruin a match.
Love atp im 11 years old and i started 1 year ago and im a beast
I hope to see you on the tour in a few years !
utr check
Finally we're free and players are too
Pause at 00:03 the ball is definitely out
I bet you're the type of spectator that yells "out" during a live match.
Depends if the ball deformed when it made contact with the ground (which can't be determined by human eye)
