Mosquitos 🦟 where i live seem to not be bothered by mint and basil, we buy lemongrass products to keep them away from us,i will try lavender this season as it can be found easly, its hard to find lemongrass seeds and plants
I agree with your opinion that we should pay more attention to native plants and avoid exotic imports that our native insects aren't adapted to. Invasive exotic plants can disrupt natural ecosystems and threaten the existence of native species. Periwinkle is indeed one of the invasive plants that can harm the presence of native plants in certain areas. Therefore, it's important for us to choose plants that are suitable for the local environment and do not cause disruption to natural ecosystems. Thank you for sharing your wise view in the TH-cam comment. Hopefully, more people will realize the importance of preserving the sustainability of our ecosystems.
Thank you so much for watching and for your feedback! I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the video overall. I'm sorry to hear that the music was distracting for you, I'll definitely take that into consideration for future videos. Thanks again for your support!

Thank you for sharing that information about catnip and sage! It's always great to learn more about the plants we use and their names in different regions. I'm glad you enjoyed the video about plants that keep mosquitoes and flies away. Hopefully, it was informative and helpful for you.
Keep mint in containers with drain plate so the roots don't spread. Lemongrass is very tropical and use in Asian recipes. Check your local plant zone and educate yourself on plant needs, water, temps., fertilizer and types of soil. Make sure that your gardens are full of natives, with adequate water and proper soil. I kept scented geraniums in pots near seating areas, Citronella is my favorite.
Thank you for your comment! I appreciate your input and valuable suggestions. Regarding the mint plants, I completely agree with you. It's essential to keep mint in containers with drain plates to prevent the roots from spreading and taking over the garden. You're absolutely right about lemongrass being a tropical plant commonly used in Asian recipes. It adds a delightful flavor to dishes and also acts as a natural deterrent for mosquitoes and flies.

You're welcome! The best time to plant vegetables in water-down Canada depends on the specific climate and growing zone of your area. In general, the planting season for vegetables in Canada usually begins in late April or early May, after the last frost date. However, the exact planting time can vary depending on the type of vegetable you want to grow, as some vegetables prefer cooler temperatures while others prefer warmer weather.

Thanks for your teaching this morning do you have to grow of them to keep 🦟 mosquitos a bay or one or two will d. Secondly what about reptiles such as snakes and lizard I know some kind of gases smells keep them away can you teaches us on that if you have aquire knowledge of that.
You're welcome! Regarding reptiles such as snakes and lizards, there are some natural remedies that may help to repel them. Some people believe that certain strong smells such as garlic, onions, or vinegar can be effective in repelling these animals. However, it's important to note that there is limited scientific evidence to support these claims, and some of these remedies may not be effective for all types of reptiles.
Thank you for the information! While there may be some differences in opinion among experts, generally plants such as lemongrass, lemon eucalyptus, and citronella can help repel mosquitoes and flies because they contain compounds that are disliked by these insects. However, I also agree that citronella actually comes from a specific type of geranium plant, although citronella can also be produced synthetically. Thank you for this helpful comment!
Thank you for your input regarding the video "10 Plants that Keep Mosquitoes and Flies Away." We appreciate your perspective. Indeed, lavender can require regular maintenance, with the need for occasional clipping. On the other hand, catnip and mint have a tendency to spread rapidly. These characteristics should be taken into consideration when choosing plants for mosquito and fly control.
Hello, what would you suggest to someone who has two cats and is not very good with plants. Meaning plants used to die on me, I either gave them too little or too much water but I never seem to get the watering right. Thank you in advance for your answer.
Hi there! Thanks for reaching out. If you're looking for low-maintenance plants that can thrive in a household with cats, there are a few options you might want to consider. Spider plants, for example, are non-toxic to cats and can tolerate a range of watering conditions. Snake plants are also a great choice, as they can survive with infrequent watering and are known for their air-purifying properties. Another option is the Boston fern, which can add a touch of greenery to your home and requires consistently moist soil. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thank you for watching my video and for your feedback! I appreciate your honesty and I'm glad you found the video informative. Indonesian have Zodia plant, originated from Papua. Strongly reject mosquitos.
What plant repellant can scare snakes away totally please advise.
There are a few plants that are believed to have snake-repelling properties, such as marigold, wormwood, and West Indian lemongrass. Are these plants dear resistant?
Hi! Great question! Some of the plants mentioned in the video are indeed deer-resistant to a certain extent. For example:
Lavender and Rosemary are known for being deer-resistant because of their strong fragrance and texture that deer tend to avoid.
Alliums are also generally avoided by deer due to their pungent smell.
However, keep in mind that deer feeding habits can vary based on the availability of other food sources in their area. If you’re specifically looking for plants to deter deer, I’d recommend researching local species that thrive in your zone. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching!
