Ooh, a chateaux tour! 🤗 The vineyards and surrounding countryside are so picturesque ❤ It was lovely to see they are restoring the castle. Such a fabulous view from there. The tower was so high and the walls so thick. It must have provided a great lookout tower and a means of defence back in the day. Well done on climbing all those steps on such a warm day! 😅 Ooh, another castle! The views were amazing. Munster's architecture was so attractive and charming. Awesome footage. France is a beautiful country that’s rich in history and culture. It’s one of the crossroads of Europe and has had profound influence on European and world history. It’s too bad this particular castle isn’t in better condition but it’s still impressive considering its age. The views are incredible. The next castle is in better condition. I can’t believe how far you can see. It’s such a beautiful area. I’m really glad they restored it. It feels like living history. Looks like you could have used a cold drink up at the top after the hike on a hot day. Too bad they closed the cafeteria. I love the architecture of Munster. You can easily see the German influence. Those pastries look so yummy. I’d love to try the cheesecake as well. Oh this is where Munster cheese comes from. I’d love to try that too. I love good cheese. We've made quite a few trips to France. For many years with the caravan and now ( sonce 2019) road trips using BnBs etc for accommodation. It is such an interesting and beautiful country. So much history and amazing architecture. We were there in 2023 too and I haven't even got to editing those videos 🤣! I've got more coming over the next few months - with a few cooking ones in between. Just for the variety and for those3 who love to cook. Indeed, Munster is where the cheese is from. The area looks so much better with sun and green compared to the dark and gray that we saw! But still beautiful none the less. Makes us want to go back in the Fall! Castle ruins were amazing. We visited one too during our trip, but it wasn't one that you showed. Speaking of cheese, we just enjoyed some French Cheese tonight that we had brought back! WOWOW Anita...I could never walk in that heat...I give you so much credit! Beautiful ruins that you've visited...what beautiful views worth the hike up I guess...lovely skies too....Munster was very interesting to me...especially when you said you needed to put the cheese under because of the aroma...munster cheese in the states has barely a smell and such a mild flavor...which makes me think we are not getting a good cheese...I was never a fan of it...but love cheese...I will have to search out a good munster cheese now in a proper cheese store...Merry Christmas dear Anita...and family! 🎄
Oh yes Donna, that heat. Great for the condition though. Burnt lots os calories 🤣🤣! The area is almost like a fantasie. So beautiful. Oh yes, Munster cheese should be pungent. Or it can’t be called Munster cheese. It has to be made with the milk from there and strictly to their recipe. Like no other brand can sell ‘champagne’ unless it comes from the champagne region in France or Roquefort cheese. Only seven companies may produce that (all in France). We visited the caves in 2023. That was AWESOME. ( yes there is a video about the visit 😂😂😂) Anyway- dear Donna, THANK you for 2024 and bringing much light and joy to my life. I’m forever grateful. Wine, wine wine. 😁😁 Not hills again!! My back is extremely delicate today Will Robinson. There's been a lot of erosion on that castle. It would have looked completely different when it was new. They restored one of the walls on Newcastle Castle because it was in a bad state of disrepair. Now that stones on that side are smooth. I love castles but I'm not so keen on climbing all the stairs to the top, especially when the sign says 'Halfway there. Only another 200 steps to climb.' 🥵 I thought you were going to ask if you can count how many bricks there are. All I know is, there was over 37. (Porridge joke). 😁😁 6:08. Sneezing again Anita. I shall never know the name of that provost now. 🤧 Page: 'Sire! Sire! The peasants are revolting!' Provost: 'I wouldn't go that far page. A tad unwashed yes.' 🧔 Imagine the poor workers having to lug all those stones up 2,000 feet only to have some charmless nerks come along and set fire to it. To quote Patrick Troughton as the 2nd Doctor. 'Sad really, isn't it? People spend all their time making nice things, and other people come along and break them.' We always took our hols in September because the price of accommodation dropped to half price. I love that first building in Munster. Still got the German influence I see. I like the whole place. Well that was until you got to the run down part. I did read something about the stork population declining all over Europe. 😥 I prefer Adams Family cheese.🧀 😂 (If I didn't like your videos Anita I wouldn't make it to the end). 😁

This area is filled with chateau- castle ruins August. Some more in tact than others. We couldn’t access one as it has been bought and is now private property. Beautiful ruins that you've visited...what beautiful views worth the hike up I guess...lovely skies too....Munster was very interesting to me...especially when you said you needed to put the cheese under because of the aroma...munster cheese in the states has barely a smell and such a mild flavor...which makes me think we are not getting a good cheese...I was never a fan of it...but love cheese...I will have to search out a good munster cheese now in a proper cheese store...Merry Christmas dear Anita...and family!

Oh yes Donna, that heat. Great for the condition though. Burnt lots os calories 🤣🤣! The area is almost like a fantasie. So beautiful. Oh yes, Munster cheese should be pungent. Or it can’t be called Munster cheese. It has to be made with the milk from there and strictly to their recipe. Like no other brand can sell ‘champagne’ unless it comes from the champagne region in France or Roquefort cheese. Only seven companies may produce that (all in France). We visited the caves in 2023. That was AWESOME. ( yes there is a video about the visit 😂😂😂)

Hello Anita, this was an absolutely lovely tour of the Castle ruins , phew so warm, for all that walking. The architecture was incredible, the views amazing. Loved the ramparts walk. There's been a lot of erosion on that castle. It would have looked completely different when it was new. They restored one of the walls on Newcastle Castle because it was in a bad state of disrepair. Now that stones on that side are smooth. I love castles but I'm not so keen on climbing all the stairs to the top, especially when the sign says 'Halfway there. Only another 200 steps to climb.' 🥵
I thought you were going to ask if you can count how many bricks there are. All I know is, there was over 37. (Porridge joke). 😁😁

Imagine the poor workers having to lug all those stones up 2,000 feet only to have some charmless nerks come along and set fire to it. To quote Patrick Troughton as the 2nd Doctor. 'Sad really, isn't it? People spend all their time making nice things, and other people come along and break them.'
We always took our hols in September because the price of accommodation dropped to half price.
I love that first building in Munster. Still got the German influence I see. I like the whole place. Well that was until you got to the run down part.

The castle is up on the mountain by itself or were there other buildings around it? The sweets look great!
This area is filled with chateau- castle ruins August. Some more in tact than others. We couldn’t access one as it has been bought and is now private property.
