Noticed yesterday, on another channel, where the guy had a new Tesla and had to go to his dash screen to open the glove box. I think around 2000 (give or take a couple years) that vehicles got so overly complicated that they got confusing and less enjoyable to own and drive. This 89 Lincoln had NOT reached the less enjoyable stage. It's still a beauty.
Thank you, George! We've had several of them, and we believe they were by far one of the best and most dependable cars ever built. I have one just like it with all red interior.
Was a beautiful car. Don’t know what I’d do if my 77 Cadillac Seville suffered that fate. Fortunately it’s not my daily driver, so that helps. Mainly just glad your mom/dad are ok.
Beautiful car. Love that your parents drive this everyday. So important. Plenty have been saved for museums and car shows ... let this car breathe...Great!!! Not that this beauty would be denied a local car show!! She's beautiful!!! Great stuff thanks for sharing.
I'm pretty sure these Town Cars with the white leather interior are rare. You do see them but not as much as the traditional colors. I think it really sets the car off with the burgandy accents and having ALL the options. I remember Tony talking about how he upgraded his parents 1978 Mercury Marquis with a lot of options and how his dad flipped out because he didn't think that Tony could put the car all back together. What a great story. I'm probably one of Tony's biggest fans.
The 87, 88, 89 are my favorite Lincoln Towncars. I have owned the following Towncars 76, 79, 89, 89, 94, 95, & 96 and the (2) 89’s that I had were the best driving ones. THE BEST RIDE. I want another one so bad I can’t stand it, and now the price of them is sky rocketing.
Your Lincoln Town Car looks identical to mine except for leather seats and Sigureture Series trim. My seats are cloth and the Sigureture Series has gold plating on the pillar each side. mine has over 300.000 miles. Enjoy these Lincoln Town Car now before they become out of reach in value.
Tony is this the same white Lincoln that you featured in another video? It’s a great looking car and I really enjoy the fact that it was your mom and dad’s. Did your dad come home and find all the innards from this car out on the lawn as well?
No sir mine has the all red interior. I bought this one originally and dad wanted it so I told him if I could find a replacement he could have it. I found mine in Detroit and told him if he took me after it and bought it he could have this one. The car that I had everything laying out in the yard was a 1978 Mercury Marquis. That was the late 1980s.
Click on my channel then click on videos and go down the list. You will see a video explaining step by step how to fix them. I also did a video when I fixed this one last night that will be uploaded soon. Please subscribe. Thank you!
I have to disagree with you on the tilt wheel. I prefer the style GM has used for decades which most manufacturers do where the whole column tilts. With just the wheel tilting you get a weird angle IMO. What year did you buy this car? It’s cool they still use it as their daily driver!
@@tyler2610 I honestly don't remember what year I bought it. After they got it from me, they sold it to my uncle, then he never drove it, and they bought it back from him.
Hi Tony , I hope you’re well, I am wondering if you can help out I have a 88 Lincoln Town car with analog dash , the petrol tank sender unit is gone , I made a search and it turned up to be that the 86-87 town car sender unit does not fit for 88-89 E5VY-9275-A is the ford number for the w/ electronic dash. w/o electronic dash pn is E8VY9275A. Do you know where can I get one . Thanks

Thank you! Yes they run the wheels off of it but they definitely keep it up.
Beautiful car, makes me miss my 89 Town Car
Thank you! They are still out there.
That is a very nice premium luxury Car your Folks are fortunate & fortunate to have you as a great Mechanic
Thank you, George! We've had several of them, and we believe they were by far one of the best and most dependable cars ever built. I have one just like it with all red interior.
Triple white and 150,000 miles - great shape and thanks for sharing.
You're welcome and thank you! Yeah they run the wheels off of it but they sure do keep it up.
Wow keyless entry and push start. You’re such a great son! :-)
Lol I try! But that is what I do for a living.
I love the white interior with contrasting carpet
Thank you. I agree it really does set it off like that for sure.
She is a gem!
Thank you! It looks good for as much as they drive it but they keep it up.
What a beautiful example! Thank you for sharing it with us.
You're welcome and thank you! If you go down my video list you can see mine which is a twin except a solid red interior.
Man I remember those old country churches. Sometimes day consisted only of a couple or three families.
Yeah there's a lot of good memories from that church.
I love the old Ford design of tilt steering in which only the steering wheel moves. It’s excellent!
I agree.....one hand action!

Was I the complainer? I like the column moving ;)
You did complain when I told you about the complainer 😂. I dig the one hand action!

I totally agree with you. I've had them all too and there's no comparison to the others.
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Very nice. I especially like the interior and the wire wheels.
Thank you very much!
Beauty for sure!!
Thanks Sandy!
Back when Lincoln and Cadillac made a statement.
Thanks for showing us this great piece! Hope to see more. Those cars are so underappreciated!
You're welcome. Thank you very much!

I’m looking at one online that is this exact same car!!
Better get it!
I ended up buying a 1986 signature series with 29k miles and it is incredible!! I just got it 2 weeks ago.
That's awesome! Congratulations, Sir!
I love it! i got an 89 sig myself burgundy 89K miles i THINK u need new struts... or maybe that's just the camera idk
Thank you! These cars do not have "struts". As I mentioned in the video, it has new load leveler shocks all the way around.

This is identical to the white/red interior Signature.

No, I sure don't. I'd say your best bet is to contact Lincoln Land in Clearwater, FL. They may at least have one that could be restored. Thank you!
Great thank you so much
@@Hard_day1246 you're welcome!
Is it for sale?
No, they wouldn't sell it. They drive it every day. Dad told me the other day that it has 164k miles on it now.
