- In this hilarious chapter of our Iceland road trip around the country, we drive from Akureyri to Vík as we explore northern Iceland's natural wonders, eat langoustines on the east coast, and frolic on black sand beaches. We also attempted to learn to speak Icelandic, but we definitely need to practice more for next time!
Iceland is such a magical place. I took solo trip there 4 years ago, and my experiences there have forever changed my life (for the better). No place like it in the world.

The traffic lights are hearts due to the echonomic collapse in 2008 that went through the country. Goverment wanted to remind the people as they stopped, that there always are good things to appreciate even when hardships occurs.

We ate at that restaurant and when we walked in the door one woman asked if we were from the States and we said, yes, from Seattle. She said "i just love Grey's Anatomy!' Turns out she spent a few years as a child in Idaho, of all places.

I live in Akureyri. Barely go outta the house though! UNLESS, I have school, work, or I wanna go to that book store next to the blue house at the 1 minute start "Eymundsson". They sell vinyl records. Lol.
I always learned it as I-ya-fi-ya-kull when I was at school, it was a school in England and one of my class mates found that pronunciation so it’s probably wrong as well haha
