I understand that progress needs time. Honestly speaking, poverty is never equal to quietude or happiness. The true meaning of life is not to stay poverty-stricken. To stay quiet is so good, but to stay idle is something needs to be addressed. Hope the Bhutanese people continue to stay undisturbed by the outside world and become more and more materially prosperous and spiritually free day by day. All the best to Bhutan!
While I do completely agree with the fact that being poverty stricken is not the same as being in solitude or happiness, however unfortunately becoming materially prosperous and spiritually free is not simultaneously possible as both are inversely related to each other..Material prosperity results in decreased spiritual freedom as one tends to be sucked into the whirlpool of materialistic desires and not move out of it..Material prosperity also does not give permanent happiness as one depends on happiness from external sources which are ephemeral or fleeting in nature...So if one wants spiritual freedom or true happiness (as opposed to materialistic happiness on account of indulgence) material desires will have to be limited and therefore material progress will have to be sacrificed for greater spiritual freedom..Both cannot increase together..Therefore the Bhutan model is ideal for the world as it is and not by making more material progress..
Can you imagine the country with the much lower GDP and technologically backward than So called developed countries is the worlds most happiest country🙏🙏🙏
