  • I got scammed/hacked on Steam a few days ago and this video explains what happened to me so you won't fall for it like I did. I have never seen or heard about people impersonating steam employees and having access to peoples account so I'm trying to spread awareness.
    If you want to know more or got any questions, I'll be live everyday starting January 26 (tomorrow) at 10:00am (EST)
    (Might start later sometimes depending how late my nightshift ends)

    you probably logged on some shady site and shared your api key

  • @Smiles-Youtube

    I actually know how they do this scam somewhat, it's because they have your steam api key which can change names, block people, remove friends, add people etc which allows them to look like "steam support" it is most likely because you were on a suspious trading site which they all use api keys for trading and the such so they changed the account name of their extra account to your brothers account to make you trade over your items to them, the only thing that I can't figure out is how they got your wallet funds

    • @Smiles-Youtube
      @Smiles-Youtube 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      also if it was actually your brothers account they could have used another part of the api scam where you will try to trade to someone but it will redirect to them (usually using the same name)

    This sucks man... i know the feeling. Almost 1,5 year ago i was also scammed and lost about 2.5K. I had a rough day at work, slept really bad, just had a fire alarm at my house so that day i was at my worst. All the red flags i missed. They hacked into my steam account through my email. Like what you said, good wake up call.

    Thats rough dude. I recently also fell victim to a scam on steam and lost 300 Dollars worth on skins. Thus I know how you might feel. If you have provide evidence to steam support regarding the scam, they might help you out and ban the account in question. However due to the policy of Steam with Counterstrike skins, I am sorry to tell you but wont get your skins back.

    this is the exact same thing that happened with me like 2 months ago, i managed to save my account by changing my password and ignoring the suspicious message. i also had to change my email lmao. i think the cause of this was adding random people that added you, do not add people that you have no relation to, they are usually random accounts that you never met them in any game. stay safe.

    • @adanyakuta6519

    someone got in your account that is how they were able to do all of that, if you use the same password on different things this could happen but there could be something on your computer you downloaded that did this
    they got you to trade the items to their own account and then they sold that cheap skin for much more than it was worth and bought it with your money

    • @SaiQcTV
      @SaiQcTV  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      right, I thought steam had to ask me if I'm logging in from a new device so I don't understand how they would be able to log in to my account without me confirming anything

    • @chrisnedelchew
      @chrisnedelchew 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Apparently, steam doesn't ask for your confirmation when you are logging in from a new device. I think what happened to you was a phishing scam and not api scam as other are suggesting in the comments. Same thing happened to me but fortunately I did not have any steam balance and steam asks you to confirm all outgoing trades. @@SaiQcTV

    They had access to your account, when they unblocked the friend it was a huge red flag.
    They did it off site and were logged into your account at the same time, combination of fishing and API.
    Sucks bro but, you can check who you bought the item off the market.
    That is most likely a mule account but could be used to back trace the funds.

    • @SaiQcTV
      @SaiQcTV  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, the scammer used 2 different level 1 accounts to bust me. One for the trade, and one to buy the item with my wallet money so I assume it was useless to report the accounts cause if they get banned, I wouldn't be able to track my items anymore.
