"Heart of Ice" would be such a poetic, heart wrenching episode for me. I still remember Otto Preminger's role as a throw away villain, but the acting and lines in the animated series episode was Shakespearean.
I’m gonna be honest here, I like the idea of the Scarecrow having a not so scary costume design, reason being is that of his traditional Fear toxin. Why waste time on a costume to look scary and intimidating, when you have a hallucinogenic compound that does the job for you. Plus it Fits in with horror movies like Alien where the monster(s) are mostly kept in the shadows leaving our imagination to full it in and it makes the monster(s) all the more terrifying.
This makes sense.. in universe. But WE aren't under fear toxin. As a viewer watching a tv show, it's hard to take him seriously.. hes a lanky goofy looking dude in a burlap sac.
Injustice 2 went with that idea by making every fight with Scarecrow occur under fear toxin- when the fight starts he’s just a guy with a burlap mask and a lab coat. Once the gas spreads, he becomes a glowing-eyed nightmare with a sickle on a chain. Combined with being voiced by Robert Englund, it’s pretty effective
Fun fact: Forbes has listed Bruce Wayne as #7 on its list of fifteen wealthiest fictional characters, with a net worth of U.S 6.3-billion Bonus fact: May 19th 2021 will mark the 82nd anniversary of Batman

@@VJK102 Obviously Forbes know shit. Everybody knows that Scrooge's fortune is calculated on one multiplujillion, nine obsquatumatillion, six hundred twenty-three dollars and sixty-two cents! Despite being born in 1987, I never watched any of the DC animated shows during the 90s. At that time, I wasn't into comics and superheroes like I am now. So I'm glad they've been releasing the comics of the 90s, like the entire Knightfall arc and the period of time where Superman was dead. Plus the early Kyle Rayner era of Green Lantern.

Now I can order them one of these things on line anytime I want but it just not the same feeling as it was back when I was a kid. Waiting for a new episode every week and excited, not knowing what the heck was going to happen.
The Mad Hatter is actually one of my favorites villains in the Batman Series, being third with Harly being second and Killer Croc being First. Fourth being Bane and Fith being Joker.
The Clock King was probably one of my favourite episodes when I was watching this years ago. It's not often you see a villain without any special powers or even that physically strong completely outplay Batman. He was a genuine threat and a villain worthy of respect in that episode.
This is hands down my favourite TV show of all time. To watch all of these episodes on blu ray nearly thirty years later was an absolute treat. This is the best treatment that Batman has ever received!!
I had all these fantasies of showing my favorite shows, like batman TAS, to my daughter. And she'd love them, wed watch every episode, itd be great. But, no... After five minutes she gets bored and goes to watch roblox TH-cam videos.
I thank you for reviewing each episode of the first season. I did not watch every episode as a child, but your video helped immensely to recall every episode I could and could not remember. A joy to go down memory lane once more I try to appreciate the series as a whole, but the episodes with Harley trying to live in society, episodes with the Creeper, Harvey Dent and Appointment in Crime Alley was one of my favorites. I slowly got back into the show as an adult along with the comics Gotham Adventures and Batman Adventures.
A potential idea for how one could improve The Underdwellers: Make the Sewer King a bit more threatening and less silly, and replace Frog altogether with Jason Todd. Make an alternate introduction for the character that could be better than what the comics did back in the dawn of the Bronze Age. Also make the transition from Dick Greyson to Jason Todd than the awkward way the comics had Bruce fire Dick as Robin because he was shot and nearly died, but then take in and start training Jason shortly after in the same story.
While in theory Arnold Schwarzenegger's portrayal of Mr Freeze was a bit goofy at times, he did have couple serious moments and years later on Fox's prequel show Gotham, Nathan Darrow played a more sympathetic young Victor Fries during the second season and appeared in episodes in the later seasons. So all in all, Matt Reeves has full control to bring Mr Freeze to life in the sequels, if he finds creative ways to make this villain a serious character the way he's supposed to be, than we will have the cold Batman enemy we craved for so long.
I remember looking forward to these all may last year, and my only complaint was wishing that they were a couple minutes longer a piece. It's nice to get them here all at once. Thanks!
Roddy McDowall also appeared on original Twilight Zone. On the same show, future Alfred actor from 60s Alan Napier and future Batman villain actors Burgess Meredith, David Wayne and Julie Newmar also appeared in separate episodes. Coincidentally, David Wayne played Mad Hatter on 60s Batman series.
How poetic. Man-Bat appears in the first episode of the legendary Batman: The Animated Series and in the final entry of the epic Arkham trilogy, both with such horror movie fashion (and easily the best boss fight of that whole game).
What? You don't fight man bat at all.. you glide above him and mash a button, at 3 random times. Its like.. the worst boss fight. It's not even a fight.
Mark Hamill's Joker is the greatest ever, but so many of the other villains' voice actors have never gotten their due. So many of them: Paul Williams as the Penguin, Diane Pershing as Poison Ivy, Roddy McDowall as the Mad Hatter, John Glover as the Riddler, and even John Vernon as Rupert Thorne (a really underrated character). And then there was Bob Hastings, who is still my favorite Commissioner Gordon of all time. Even the lighter voice acting was great, such as Marilu Henner as Veronica Vreeland (a second underrated character).
I was in a bad car accident and stuck at home when this series debuted and I remember being hooked and it wasn’t until I was in my 20’s when I found out that mark hammil was the voice of the joker
What I love about Christmas With The Joker is that it feels like that pie to Batman’s face was his whole motive for everything. The break out, tormenting Gordon and the others. It was all to provoke Batman to that moment were Joker could pie Batman in the face as a Christmas joke or in a way the joke WAS the gift. The episode is goofy but it shows just who Joker is and how far Joker will go just to get a joke on Batman
