Currently going through your videos in preparation for my upcoming assessment centres. Your experience really shines through and the way you deliver advice is amazing
Hey Simranjeet, this is a great video with lots of value, took me barely 5 mins to fill up a page of notes. My girlfriend just graduated from the Uni of Manchester with a degree in Law, one of her goals is to get a training contract but from what she's explained it seems like something that is very hard to do. Could I put you two in touch? I know she will appreciate the opportunity to have someone she can ask advice from, who's already been through it. Thank you
heyy!! hahaha love that re the notes :) yup of course, more than happy for her to give me a shout (either LinkedIn or Insta is good). My reply times can be delayed sometimes though (usually take around 3-4 days to reply to people), but yes more than happy to provide advice to her. Thanks for watching my vid :)
Your so articulate you know. Quick question. Did you subscribe to news outlets like Financial Times, The Economist, etc? Or did you use the free versions? I want to be more commercially aware. What do you recommend I do?
Sorry to hear about this! Would recommend talking to the colleague involved, letting them know why their behaviour is affecting you. If you don't feel comfortable doing this, you can also take the issue up with HR
Did you know before hand the exact type of activities you would be involved in before the assessment took part? Not talking about the exact topic, but the type of test you would be facing... Thank you so much!
Sometimes the firm would tell you a bit of a hint e.g. 'you will be taking part in a group task, negotiation and case study interview.' But that was the extent of the information I received. And yes, usually I was informed what type of test I would be taking too e.g. situational judgment, watson glaser etc.
@@sq5694 I bore in mind her advice and generally I did well. The test has been for three hours and it had done virtually , the assessors gave us three case studies to discuss about them within 90 minutes, right now I'm waithing for response.
My recent group task went horribly. The dynamics became little bit more competitive and self focused rather than collaborative. I didn’t get to speak. I kept on getting interjected and couldn’t speak. I wanted to come but it felt like I would sound rude. Time was up. Didn’t get a job. How do I deal with difficult person in a group task? It was one person who I think was coming from insecurity that she had to feel very bossy and have to control everything. I felt like I became her target that she particularly focused on me. That energy for some reason was also captured by the rest of the group mildly. I did manage to talk to the rest of the group later and manage to get their support and also do well on rest of 2 task. However the damage was done. Being a guy, it felt like if I act assertive, it would look really rude and especially anti feminism. So again, how do you deal with difficult person??
These tips work !!!! I did my first ever assessment centre for an asset management company and got the role!
