My beagle was lazy as heck until she got on a scent. She got out one time and was gone for about 18 hours running. She came out of the woods completely exhausted slowly walked up on the porch completely green from the ferns and passed out on the porch floor.
I used to have a really good time hanging out with my grandfather trialing 15" beagles. He was a life long member of Chief Tarhee beagle club in Lancaster Ohio. He finished two males, Canadian Stub and one named Lucky, back in the late 90's. Glad you posted this. It brings back really fun memories. Glad to see the sport still thrives. Best of luck out there.

Her momma was the first ever National Gun Dog Brace Champion ND Walker was the sire. He was my house dog and best hunter. Smarties dog I have ever been associated with and passed that on to EZ... EZ and Walker were the two special dogs in my life. They could communicate with me and I would not have to say a word.

They go through the deer several times and the deer just stand there. They have 7 or 8 site chase and never lose their composure. I actually think they are teaching Livy to run like them.
Actually EZ and Abby are sisters and the other is a young pup. EZ and Abby are AKC Field champions but most important pure Hunting dogs. If you want to watch them in hunting situations just do a search on Skyview's Beagles rabbit hunting.
They are hunting dogs who will adjust and run according to the conditions. Speed is not a issue for them. There are days they walk and others they will roll.

There is nothing like they have their normal knowing how that is not as bad but if they get a smell of something that is alive he never does it with food just with other animals it is so much louder and good luck trying to get him to calm down infant health in a lot when I take him for walks and I assume you smell dog in heat and people be like FML all the way across my neighbor hood walking a bagel when psych-out mode is on a fun experience he's a good dog but he is making me look bad lmao

It’s illegal in some states to hunt with a beagle it’s Not really hunting when the dogs do all the work and the hunter follows. Like I said once the dogs picks up the scent they’re relentless until they find the animal. To me this is not hunting even though some might disagree. But if it’s illegal in some states this must be the reason why.

@@mcardery2k - The barking when they aren't hunting ...non-stop ...24 hours a day ...all the time . Then they get excited by something ! Then they bark with a purpose ....until it leaves and they just bark .... because they're beagles .
We have owned a lot of Beagles but don't have the issues you are speaking of. Our dogs come home, get their bellies full and are happy to just relax for the night. They make wonderful dogs at home.
@@mcardery2k - You must be the exception . I have neighbors with hounds - Redbones , Blueticks and a Bloodhound rescue ( we have mountain lions) - they all bark back and forth at each other . Beagles are better - but they're still hounds . After a certain age - all they want to do is hunt . You're a convenient place to get food . They aren't terribly affectionate or easy to train . I've had terriers for 30 years - who are affectionate but don't listen worth a shit - especially when they are hunting .
@@uglydog311 We must live on opposite ends of the world. I have been through generations of dogs. They handle great and are very easy to train. If you watch my thousands of videos it's pretty obvious that all the guys in our videos don't have the issues you speak of. A lot of my dogs even ride in the front seat with me & help with directions.

That really sounds more like a deer chase. A rabbit would circle and you should have seen it. Glad you got her back.

It is not normal. If you run a rabbit with steady pressure for several hours it's possible to stiffen the rabbit up.
