The number one lesson we’ve learned with the early shallow cruisers is to sit down and sit still, particularly when lacking any snow cover. If possible, don’t wear traction devices around your main fishing area. Stealth pays dividends when fishing shallow.

Would these principles hold true for Browns (fishing shallow early season) or no because they tend to be more piscivorous? What was that contraption you used to catch the first fish on the dead stick? I hope Sidra is doing well.
Yes they absolutely apply to Browns, more so than Rainbows IMO. The contraption is an Alaska Salmon Bear Fish Trap aksalmonbear.com/ not sure if they are still in business.

Yes blob fly on the hook setter. The spring bobber is a titanium spring bobber tied directly into the rod blank.
