Every time I listen to this track, I close my eyes and see Andy Latimers facial expressions, putting his heart and soul into it. Love it.

There used to be one video on TH-cam which showed him totally drained at the end of the song because he had put so much into it. It's like he'd just run a marathon.

My favourite guitar instrumental of all time. Nobody plays with the feeling of Andy

I'm glad you liked this song.
When I choose it I was worried that you would be bored and sleepy! lol.

There is a remastered 1997 video of this Camel "Ice" live. Guitarist Latimer
    Was way underrated! Great band!

This is the song that introduces me to Camel. Maybe about ten years ago when i was in high school. The feeling remains the same. I just can't believe that a song without a word can sometimes touch our deepest soul.
This band with their music is just pure magic. We can hear it, but it remain unseen.

Same for me Robbie. A friend lent me I can see your house in the mid 80s and When I heard Ice, I was mesmerised and had never experienced chills down my my spine like it ever berfore. Andy Latimer is probably the most melodic guitarist that I have ever heard.

Very true. But then again you can have a song with a thousand words and it says nothing.

A little reminiscent of Opeth's mellow tunes/parts maybe?... They've been a huge influence to Mikael Åkerfeldt 😊

Opeth always say Camel is big influences. Great Review! You know Marillion Neverland.. Great escape live!!

Fun fact, "Never Let Go" from Camel was re-used in Benighted by Opeth, same opening sequence

dadorage Opeth wrote Ending Credits based off one of camels songs as at Sheppard's Bush Mike tells the crowd they ripped it off from Camel.. Two great bands & camel has left their mark in rock history Opeth is doing the same thing in their way.

the leader of opeth (mark), is a big huge fan of camel; there's an opeth song (sorry, I don't remember the title), that has te same intro of "never let go" by camel (1973)

Yeah Mikael is a big fan. The song you were thinking of is Benighted from Still Life :)

6:49 You're not way off! Mikael Akerfeldt has mentioned Camel as one of his influences! He actually once said on stage that one of his songs is actually a Camel rip-off :D Not sure, but I think the song was 'Benighted' or something.

    • @Gedo_

For the benefit of Camel lovers, I recommend reacting to the song "Skylines", in this wonderful live performance: th-cam.com/video/5ADW5aJfY7U/w-d-xo.html

Gedo, There is a Live clip of this which you should take a look at even if you don't redo your reaction clip. Andy L. is the last original member .. A great performance not to be overlooked even though it's not the original band the song is the same as what your listening to maybe even better. th-cam.com/video/-0lp64wRXeA/w-d-xo.html One thing not to forget is if anything it's Opthe that sounds like Camel when they play the mellower compositions. Opeth began in 1989 Camel began in 1971. The Key is in Dm.
