- Initial team selection for GW1 Sun Dream Team. We are still over 2 weeks away from the start of the season, so I will most likely be making changes to this as we go. But wanted to share some of my thinking when selecting a first team.

Quite possibly, i'm definitely not sticking to my guns this early with pre-season, transfer market and updates to come on the euro/international players.
But do want to try play along the lines with bonus & less reliance on just goals/assists

Good to have your videos back Scott ! We literally have 7 of the same players in our draft ! 😂 no wonder we finished so close to each other last season. I like your garner pick, to be honest if you want both salah, haaland & saka defo need an enabler (i dont have Garner though)
Im thinking of swapping our salah though so i can get another mid premier ! But want to see how liverpool set up under the new manager really b4 making a final decision. Im sure we will all be doing more tweaks with 2 weeks to go though !!
Hey Jen, interesting! Had a bit of both some completely different.
With the enabler I want to try and get as close to guaranteed points as poss. Rather than trying to predict the hot unexpected scorer you know.
Agree on Liverpool makes it very tough not seeing much of them and they don't even have their full squad yet.

I’m not sure he really ticks a load of boxes for points unless he hits the ground running and is scoring/assisting regularly. Nice price if it works but does feel a risk to me

GK Flekken
Defence Porro Livramento Gavardiol
Midfield Eze Odegaard Grealish Guimaraes
Strikers Isak Salah/Captain and Son
Just a bit wary of England players that are coming back from Euro final, why I’m going Odegaard not Saka for now and Grealish looking good in pre season and he’ll be good I think for dribbling points, Haaland just a little concerned with what Pep has said regarding fitness.
Think i'm getting sold on Porro, another goal again yesterday and Maddison's not been that great in pre-season since putting him in my team lol.
Yeah I think that makes sense on Odegaard, even if Saka makes first game there's a chance Odegaard could start stronger.
No worries now after Haaland hattrick haha. Grealish seems a decent differential but may lose his place a couple weeks in once Foden/Doku are back
Haaland always a must pick by default 😮
I've based my initial team for the best first couple of fixtures.
My team so far is:
GK: Sels, Forrest, £2m
DEF: Porro, Tot, £4m. Maatson, Villa, £3m. Barco, Brighton, £2m.
MID: Palmer, Chel, £6m.
Gordon, New, £4.5m.
Guimaraes, New, £4m.
Saka, Ars, £6m.
ST: Salah, Liv, £7m.
Isak, New, £5m.
Son, Tot, £5m.
With £1m budget to spare.
The plan is after first 2 games and over time, I'll swap out players for Dalot, Haaland and Foden and Sa in GK, if I can lol
That’s a solid team mate like it! I would be fearing Haaland tho I would say… 2nd game home to Ipswich will be hide behind the sofa 😂
But for a no Haaland team looks very solid
@@DreamTeamProfessor Yeah I thought Isak and Son have easy first games against Leicester and Southampton.
Then I'll swap Porro for Robinson, Fulham. Gordon for Garner, Everton and that's gives me enough cash for Haaland for the second game v Ipswich.

Areola
Munoz, Porro, Schar
Gordon, Garnacho, Saka, Szob
Haaland, Isak, Son
Very solid team that! I feel like Szob or MacAllister could have a really good season under the new manager but not sure which one I prefer of the two.
Did you see Szob played as the deep 6 last friendly against arsenal?
But all could change nearer the start

Hello mate, I think I would rather go Livramento or Hall over Dan Burn in the hope of some attacking returns personally. I think both got an assist this evening.
I'm not sure what's going to happen with Bradley vs Trent. If Trent starts the final friendly i'd imagine it's Trent starting Ipswich?
I'm an Arsenal fan but I reckon you can do better than Rice at 4m
What about swapping Bradley to Porro 3m to 4m and then possibly have a 3m mid? Or maybe dropping down Pope in goal who's quite expensive to a 2.5 and upgrading rice to Odegaard?

Swapped Pope and put in Sels, Swapped Burn and Gvardiol for Robinson and Trent, realized it's either Trent or Bradley so dropped Bradley and put in Livramento. Only have .5 left over so even if I drop Rice, don't have enough for Odegaard. Lots of 4.5 options but don't want to over commit to Newcastle. Rice for Szoboszlai figuring Liverpool should smash Ipswich? Then again I'm a City fan so my heart wants to put in Doku or Silva. Thank you for your help!
Considering keepers don't score great and looking at Forest's fixtures I think that's a good shout, but will it be Sels or Miguel?
I think it’s a wait and see. See if they make it clear in the final few friendlies. If not certain I might have to go elsewhere
@@DreamTeamProfessor Forest fans seem to think it will be Sels, but like you said we'll have to wait and see with their up coming friendlies for more of an idea. How are you feeling Odegaard at 5 million? I know Saka is the main man and is of course on pens, but I think a fully rested Odegaard could see him return a goal figure like the season before last
@carrauntoohil86 I had thought about the idea of Ode to free up some cash. But it wouldn’t be longer term, possibly initial weeks while Saka gets up to speed.
But then someone like Kudus is 5m and I feel like he could possibly outscore Odegaard. It’s tough. Definitely for the first fixture looks quite nice

Once the big hitters come back fully fit and europe kicks in reckon we all start looking more similar
Smith Rowe might be a better option now for 2.5
Yeah do like him, we get to see first line up on the Friday night so if he’s in defo will consider. I quite like Pereira there tho too

Hi mate instead of garner I would recommend smith Rowe at the same price more likely for a goal or assist
But realistically how many goals and assists is he going to get...
and when he doesn't deliver attacking returns, will he score anything other than 2s.. maybe the odd 3.
Definitely could be someone who does well, big fan of the player. But not convinced he'll even be reliable to stay fit let alone score points

Atk: Salah, Haaland and Pedro
Find keepers dont really mater a whole bunch and went for jwp for the same reason you went eze both seem to always get good points😂
Nice one, I think I like it all apart from possibly Mainoo and maybe Cash.
I'm not sure Mainoo is a great pick with the dream team rules. Cash was really good for me start of the season but then seemed to lose his place when Konsa was in at RB
Really like Pedro as well up top, if we see him in pre-season i'd be well interested. Missed yesterday's game and hasn't featured yet
Hi, do you think Valentin Barco will start for Brighton at the start of this season? Internet says Estupinen is still recovering from surgery.
Barco could be a good bargain at £2m for the first few games.
Yeah think he could be a very good option and chance to keep that spot. Has been taking corners in pre season too with gross leaving.
He missed the last friendly with a slight knock so keep an eye on it. But they said it shouldn’t be serious

Great player, becomes a better Dream Team option with Europe as well could rack up the points. HOWEVER....
Don't think he will get pens of Son. Also think it probably makes Johnson, Kulusevski and Maddison worse picks as they may end up taking mins off each other. As it seemed like Kulusevski was going to be getting some mins CF

I'm gonna try and put something together for the enablers. My Garner pick is now out injured haha so back to the drawing board.
I'm interested in Pereira on all set pieces for the price, maybe sneaks penalties too unless Muniz takes over main man. Kamada at palace 2m could be interesting, Rogers having a good pre season.

For a 2.5m midfielder would you consider iliman ndiaye for Everton also for a defender mattsen 3m for villa?
I don't know enough about Ndiaye really but I don't think i'd be that interested in attackers from Everton. Their fixtures aren't great and they're not a great attack. The Garner one was mostly because tackles and bonus didn't need Everton to be good 😂 He's now injured Garner so i'm on the hunt again.
Maatsen I think could be good, had his first pre-season game yesterday I think. I reckon i'd wait for him to see how Villa look as Arsenal GW2 isn't great.
Question for this group. I'm doing a league against my mate but to avoid duplicates we are picking 10 teams each. So apart from City Arsenal Liverpool which teams to target to get the most DT points from?
Straight away advantage will be going for the teams that have europe mate because you'll get so many more fixtures out of them.
Think Newcastle and West Ham would be quite high up for me and Brighton from the non european sides. Think they'll benefit from having less matches to play this season and do better in the league.

Yeah I think I’d consider switching in for Ipswich depending on if he plays GW1 and is ready.
I like Gordon had him a lot last season. Rogers could be good for the price, scored a few pre season. As long as he’s definitely starting. Come Europe if he is that’s a bargain

Hey mate, i'm not 100% buonanotte starts might be wrong tho. Be careful with Mateta he's still at the olympics so probably won't make start of the season for palace.
I do like it though. You could maybe swap Foden to a different mid as well for the first game because pep doesn't sound like he will make the first game. He said he will miss community shield because coming back late from euros.

Can’t turn down Salah for Ipswich but need to get a better idea of the new managers style.

I like the look of Nkunku if he can stay fit but do we think he will do well against Man City GW1?

I'd be a little bit wary of Gakpo, he's not joined up for pre season yet and we just don't know who will start under the new manager when they have Jota, Nunez, Diaz, all to choose from.
Midfield looks good, just have to be careful with Foden. Pep has said he won't play community shield and will come back at some point in the first two games.

Yes, Salah is not a midfield player.
This is an FPL team isn't it. Looks pretty good but i'd be worried about no Haaland haha i'd probably ditch trent down to another 4.5, maybe Son to a Gordon and Watkins to Haaland if that was me. Think that works for budget on that game

I think he might rotate there at times but I think it’s more likely Calafiori plays LB
Timber may rotate in the other spots but he’s played mostly CB pre season. Need to see more before the start to know if he starts but I’m not sure he will

I’ve used all budget. Remember Europe doesn’t start till GW4 champions league and then 5 Europa.
There’s a carabao cup double GW2 where currently you’d only have Walker peters potentially. Could be worth having a few non euro.

Miguel in goals, Your bonkers, a unknown Brazilian keeper coming in as first choice you think. .........Sels ending to the season makes him Forest's number 1 over a guy with no prem experience only potential.
I did say Miguel for now. Who ever out of the two look like are getting the number 1 shirt pre season I’ll go with. If it’s not clear out of the two I’ll go elsewhere to start.

Hi mate yes on dream team you get carabao cup. It’s not showing on the game yet, but 2 days before the season starts the round without prem teams ends. They will draw the next round that will have prem teams outside Europe, the fixture will get put as the GW2 midweek

Having a very good pre season, Emery seeming to love him. I'm not 100% on his minutes when everyone is back available but reckon it could be a big season for him

Oooh that's really tough. I think i'd go Kudus. Bit cheaper, could have Carabao in GW2 and possible new manager bounce 😄 Bonus monster too. Just the fixtures aren't the best but neither are uniteds
I don't love either to be honest, rumours that Solanke might get a Spurs move this window. If he does he could be an incredible option. I'd have prefered if Nkunku was a mid on the game

I think I’ll likely want him at some point but facing City first fixture wondered if I could get away with waiting. Hard to fit them all so it would be between him and Saka initially and Saka home wolves looked a bit nicer
