I am so honored to have flown with this great captain, and even privileged to have been his copilot on his last flight.
Oh really!? Cool. Loved flying with him. Glad to hear you did too. He's retired now ?
I met the Captain and watched his DVDs.. Very nice polite Calm Captain.. really inspired me to be a pilot..
Ah how cool! I loved flying with them and I had a great time!
He looked tense but, beautiful landing...tense of perfection...
Smooooth! Man that was like -20fpm
wow!!!!! no doubt this is the best video i have seen involving aviation in Zambia.Bravo! bravo! to captain Maxwell Mapulanga
Perfect landing
@Kaluba2000
Indeed Max is a very experienced Captain. When you watch the DVD you can see him tell his story of all the aircraft he has been flying for all years.
Lovely person to fly with!
Viking Wings nice video, what's the name of the theme music ?
Good to see people of my colour flying heavy iron
Bravo
Thanks!
bought this DVD and the Kenya Airways B737-800 one. Well worth the money. Pilots explain what they do as they fly.
Now that's a cool dude doing his job! *Respect*!
Love the landing Tommy! Great footage and I can't wait to see the DVD.
Excellent back ground music.
they are back with the CRJ200, 50pax. Have always liked their fresh food servings as well.
that would be the look of concentration not being tense....cool to be a pilot that's my dream job!
Nice video, but at 1st I had the feeling that he was landing the aircraft for the 1st time, he looked very anxious. And the fact that eh was adjusting his seat at a very low Level is curious, even if the auto pilot was still engaged.
thought so too and disengaged the autopilot a bit late
Loved it😊😊
What a shame that this airline's license was suspended and eventually shut down it's operations. Bad management has by far been the achilles heel of most African airlines. I hope someday the Zambian government reorganizes and resuscitates this airline. Currently they're relying on other established African airlines to provide it's citizens with air travel. I'd like to purchase this video and see just how professional their pilots were.
I was about to replace Alan as ground engineer on these flights as the licence was suspended. So sorry I never got to spend time with such a fantastic crew
that was a soft landing
I love seeing black pilots. Especially when there's two of them!
Me too!
Another awesome video...I can't get enough of your videos....Thank you
I enjoyed this. Good job Zambezi Airlines.
I LOVE the articulated giraffe pain job on the plane. Love it!!!! Now I need to see an airplane painted w/ a lions mane & a tail ! How about a paint job of an elephants trunk & a pr. of "Dumbo" ears! I'm serious. It would attract more passengers & would advertise the importance of Africa's wildlife.. (and a portion of proceeds could go towards saving African wildlife> I'm on a ROLL w/ this idea!..........I hope the airlines of Africa think about it. African wildlife needs our help.
Was the aircraft very light to have a vRef of 130?
A/P disconnect at 200fts?? Why don't they fly the aircraft on final?
@altstiff Happy to hear you like it Al.
2:30 Was the captain adjusting his seat position on finals?
Seems a bit late in the day for that!
I flew Zambezi and do miss it
lovely l love it when l see blacks flying
@dem0npain
He sure did nice landing, and flying in general I might add.
Their flight attendants are gorgeous and so professional. At 8:26 the airline should provide flight attendants with galley gloves to remove hot entrees from the oven.
Love it!
awesome smooth landing!
nice paint job
The first landing was some sort of autoland?, The AP disconnected at approximately 200 ft mark, and i did see that VOR/LOC was displayed in the Attitude indicator
It's only an autoland if the AP stays on on touchdown. It was just a regular CAT1 ILS
Wow. Awesome.
0:52..what a beauty..
I flew on this Plane Captained by Cpt Mutambo and Mapulanga....
This video it was in 720p? because I remember that.
tres bel video - beautiful video
Like the livery. Too bad the airline does not fly anymore. I hope Captain Mapulanga and the rest of the crew are doing well and found new jobs quickly.
why?
Beyond The Stars why what?
tres bel video
Amazing!
great landing!!!
he looks tensed !
Good pilot and Video!
good job on landing !
sad how the airline has now ceased operation :(
Mayby you can make som US dvd's?
@EightCharlieFox Thank you!
Captain's facial expressions and body language at the start of the clip looks nervous like he's almost panicking while fidgeting around.
Music name start video???
cool video
jah hay perhaps he wants to have a better view as they change the nose angle
Why does it matters what color they are?
You should not even mention the subject
@ndegepilot
Thank you.
When I get my license I would like to join this company.
Many airlines including Qantas does something similar to this ...
Can anyone tell me name of this track
Bonus Track Savannah-African-Ambient MixAlbum Beneath Another SkyBjork Lynne
he wasn't seated comfortable . maybe he worried to be not able to reach breaks during the rolling out
I don't think that's the case, people have different work mode sitting position and abit uncomfortable with being recorded.
Rubani ana wasiwasi.... like he has flown for the first time..
Very tense captain.
Thanks for the post i enjoyed the video but.
I am sorry but the ILS flew that plane in. 200f to disengage the autopilot on a clear mild day. Much to much fidgeting on final.
I prefer the one taking the meals out of the oven in the rear galley
OOPS.....I meant PAINT job, not pain job... sorry about the error below!
@dem0npain He obviously didnt want to fuck it up in front of cameras
Zambezi ceased flying with 735
if he looks tense now imagine what he would look like when there is an emergency !!!
naaah that's just his work mode look.
Beautifull crew girls specially on 0,52 minutes, i love you prety girl.
giraffe airlines!!
@dem0npain up in front of a camera
I wonder why He looked worried
The pilot looks nervous and ..Autopilot was disengaged too late for a clear day.
il a pas l'air décontracté le pilote ...
The captain needs to relax a bit and not over control the airplane so much. These high level back and forth is because he has a very good feel for the aircraft but he still needs to be calm.
Det virker som om piloten har hjertet på halsen, mon han har det sådan på arbejdspladsen hvergang
soft landing
i think my comments had been removed for some reason.
1 the captain did not disconnect auto pilot till he was 200 feet. OMG
2 when the first officer said speed brake the captain said check but he did NOT.
i for one would not like him to be the captain on my flight
Absolutely nothing personal against the Captain, I am just a little concern about adjusting his seat several times on final when the aircraft is close to the ground ! Also read Mr. Frabusne's comment below.
yes....he's not sure with his plane
Their in Africa, obviously there are black pilots
Not a steady descent
the pilot is very nervous
+BAIKOKO TV
Where does the Captain voice his concerns of being nervous in carrying out his duties?? No where, your just assuming the Captain is nervous based wholly on your visual interpretation of his demeanor, a very human thing to do. Please be reassured to know that the Captain is a very experienced, professional airman who was fully in control of the aircraft in his command in the video. Cheers.
SoMuChFuN he approached & landed satisfactorily imo.
A fidgety pilot does not inspire confidence
My goodness ! Finally that Zambian pilot land the aircraft but he looks all the time very uncomfortable ! I'm not gonna fly with that pilot! So scary!
This is the same thing am thinking. You really smart.
I can fly better than him I fly for klm
TheLenne12 yes I agree I meant my dad was a pilot I'm thinking of me flying
