Thank you mam for the wonderful explanation ...the poem reminds me of the poem John brown by Bob Dylan ..who also stressed upon the futility of the war by portraying the mother and sons perspective clearly distinguishing the feelings of people who looks war as an audience and the one who is the performer himself...here Owen being the performer himself on the stage of the hellish battlefield saw and felt the reality closely .... The last line very efficiently represents the anti war attitude of the poem reflecting how the reality is ignored and people gets drifted towards victory without even bothering to see the bloody battlefield which destroyed everything and killed so many lives . He clearly stresses upon the negative side of a war being held , pitying on its ugly impacts which are overlooked or just not taken into concern.
