Thank you Dr Asmamaw ! because of your effort a relative of mine with her 13 year old son was one of the prisoners who was released from Siad Bare prison. She suffered a lot while she was there. They used to let them work in water logged, snake infested rice plantations. Many died from poisonous snakes, malaria and other diseases. They used to make them do hard labor work and they don't give them proper food. They were weak from lack of sufficient food and when they get disease they died easily.

I appreciate the patriotism of Amharas elites. But unfortunately they always think stack in the past. Especially on Somalia case they have no positive outlook about Somalis even when they are no longer a threat besides the changing global outlook in favour regional close cooperation towards the global. Sad still you can hardly find an Amhara individual having a Somali friend leave alone a closer social life. If you don't talk to people you cannot get their mindset. Yes there are some misguided Somalis who think exactly as the Amharas elites do but Somali today is no much for Ethiopia in anything to be a threat. Somalis have gone into different parts of the world and have their new generations highly educated to help themselves and the wider region think in a civilised broader ways than it used to be some 50 years. We also have more advantage in the fact that our Somali region brothers and sisters have realised being Ethiopians have more opportunities for them than going against it. That is what this elites are unable to realise simply because they always think stack in the past with fear and isolationist mentality.
