Honestly i love this show and the story it tells so much more than i ever anticipated on first watch, and most of the characters are some of the most well-written ive seen on screen, but it's the Jack and Anne Bonney relationship that gives me the most joy. Also, i really think these have been my favorite of your reactions ive seen so far. Im really enjoying them and your commentary. Not sure what it is about them per se, but yeah. I love it.
This show takes its sweet sweet time with backstory, but it does give it. Pretty much every episode is also a big masterclass on how much tension can it ratchet up, still give a payoff, but never let you totally lose the mounting feeling something awful is about to happen lol
Eleanor has a few people to help 'keep the peace' in the tavern, not much more than that. Is it enough? Can she back up her position of power with the muscle she has? She also has the backing of powerful captains on the island like Hornigold. Hornigold also controls the fort which overlooks the bay. This is the reason I assume that the Scarborough can't just come sailing in to Nassau but rather is based on a nearby island. To 'reclaim Nassau for England' there would need to be an invasion fleet of some sort.

Phew - i thought this was actually season 2 episode 6 and thought i had just missed all the crazy reactions.
