that mentality actually says a lot about his ability to stay positive. how many people would lose their tee shot, take a drop for a 2 stroke penalty so that they're hitting their 4th shot after losing their ball....then he lands it close to the pin and has a bogey putt in that scenario. i know i would look at that situation with frustration that i had to take a drop and i ruined my chance for a par....but he actually looked at it like it deserved celebration with the "birdie sauce" in the edit even for the bogey. thats a really important part of the mentality to keep when you're playing, and i have definitely not trained myself to approach it that way yet. that was pretty impressive to me
Hey Ricker, I too have struggled with being overly frustrated while struggling through a tough round of golf. I was able to change my attitude simply by reminding myself that the peeps I’m playing with don’t care how I play, but they do care how I act. That has let to me enjoying each and every round regardless of my score. I understand in your situation things aren’t that simple as people are critical of you when you play poorly. Rick, that was way overdue. It was fantastic to see you shooting like you should have been. We all have highs and lows. The lows can test you, but your highs you need to embrace. Wonderful job and hopefully we see you playing like you did in this video more and more. Minimal stress, effortless play, and having fun!!!
@@xcm69420 It's also frustrating when someone who consistently shoots in the mid to high 70s moans and whines about every shot that doesn't go in like he's having the worst/unluckiest day in years, but is actually like every single other round he plays. After not watching some golf videos for a while, I'm excited to see how much better Rick is playing and managing the game between the ears. Even with a rough start, he pulled through and still had a great round. Good job, my friend!
Well played lads. Enjoyed that. Hard to believe the amount of negative comments on a golf video. Rick breaks 75... negative comments. Rick shoots above 80... negative comments. Rick wasn't having fun... negative comments. Guy was having too much fun... negative comments. You just can't win 😂
Its cause we're here for an entertainment product - so if the product isn't entertaining i.e. Rick is just whining about not getting more birdies, yeah there's going to be complaints. (ignoring the haters that will hate anyway) Like from the tone of the video, I never would have guessed he had a good round and broke 75 - it felt like a low 80's round. Which is difficult; because of course he has high expectations and wants to get better but it has been coming at a price lately. But like, with the score of this video, it really comes down to him choosing to be more positive to make a better video anyway. Cause at the end of the day, he gets to share generally really good golf with us, at the best courses in the world, and the bad shots that everyone has, takes way too much focus away from the feeling of just enjoying playing golf - which is what most of us are here for
Love rounds like this where Rick mentally checks out after a couple of bad shots. Then pulls it together to finish with a great round. Good resilience.
Hey Rick and Guy, what a nice round to watch. I just want to let you know that your videos and podcast get me through the winters in Canada. Keep swinging and lower scores are going to come. Honestly, it feels like people think Rick is being negative… but I think they’re mistaking to for getting in the zone and getting serious. Rick plays positive when he’s trying to play positive… usually when he’s possitive, he doesn’t do that great compared to what he’s capable of. When Rick is in the zone, even when Guy might just be having fun… Rick does seem negative but he seems to do better. I don’t blame him for being this way. There’s a time to be positive and there’s a time to be serious. Way to go Rick, nice rounds.

Guy, you played great the first part. As I was watching I think I see where your paddy push may be coming from because I have had the same problem. Check it out but I think that, when you’re taking your club back, your club is actually underneath your swing plane and - because it is underneath - when you transfer to the downswing you are forced to push your hands out and away causing an over the top club path that works across the ball.
