    Love the teaching, love your willingness to get soaked to help us out, and i love the humor! Your videos are one of the best parts of my day, Luke! You're such a REAL PERSON, your passion for gardening is contagious, and it's so amazing to have someone right here in MI to guide me in my unpredictable multi-weather gardening state! Your educational videos have helped me so much. I just ordered 3 kinds of blueberry plants from you and ALL of my garden seeds for this year! I pray God's blessings over your business, your greenhouse, your TH-cam channel and of course Mrs. MIgardener and family. Keep up the great work! P.S. I'm from Bay City and am planning a day trip out to your new store soon! Have a blessed day 😇🙏✌️🍅🫑🥔🧄🍄🧅🫘🥦🥒🍓🫛🍎🥕

    Nice simple solution Luke. Long ago I learned a trick from an old organic gardener. He used 'branchy sticks'. Just poke the thick end into the ground and the peas will climb them easily. I wish I could upload a pic for you. Some trees have better suited branchy sticks than others.

    I had shoved down my pea plants from last year into the garden with the pea pods that turned brown and just didn't look quite right. A lot of the seeds survived the winter and unexpectedly sprouted. It has turned into an experiment because I forgot to thin them and so I am just letting them grow close and I had to rig up a trellis thing because they aren't in a row. They are doing great so far. I am very exited to harvest them!

    Just ate my first batch of peas for dinner last night in NC. Planted Feb 2. Peas, beans, legumes, clover, and some related plants should be innoculated with nitrogen fixing bacteria. Wet the seeds and sprinkle on the innoculant, which is a black powder. I think the bacteria are species-specific, but the commercial innoculant is a mix. You can apply the innoculant to the soil after planting. The bacteria grow in nodules on the roots.

Had 18 tomatoes growing in grow bags in a SIP system. After a year of growing this way, I think vertical is better: easier to clean up and uses less materials. I will try square mesh netting this season, a combination of the two, for the sake of experimenting. Ha.

    I'm lucky enough to grow several types of bamboo, so I have all the free gardening trellis material I could want. Just have to buy the string. I haven't done peas for a while, but I used to just put branches into the rows and they'd climb and sprawl over that - it didn't cost a cent.

    Watching you bemoan the rain, I sit here being jealous. My part of eastern Nebraska has been in a state of drought for what seems like forever, like years, my immediate neighborhood even worse than the general area. And when we do get rain, it's rarely a nice long soaking one, but rather a brief and violent thunderstorm, we're lucky to get an inch. So don't complain too much!
    The only peas I grow are snow peas, and they get up to over 6 feet high before they fade in the summer heat. Are regular peas really that much shorter?

    I saw a clip of sticking a small piece of copper wire into the base of your tomatoe plant. Which is to incorporate copper into the plant and help the plant fight fungus. BI am going to give it a whirl this year

    • @DonnaMM6361
      @DonnaMM6361 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can you explain further?

    • @dash-4150
      @dash-4150 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Donna Martz , copper is a natural antifungal, and stabbing and keeping that little piece of copper into the plant will encourage the plant to absorb and have higher levels of copper in its foliage. Which will aid in deterring the fungus spotting and yellowing of tomatoes leaves. I cannot testify, atleast until after this season of use, if this helps or not. Saw it on another gardening channel. The same channel also promotes the use of antennas to energize the soil and aid in growing.
