Wow! I've been working in computers for many decades, but I never knew many of the concepts you discussed in this video. Thanks for a great job - as usual. I always learn much from you, but this one is a real eye-opener.
A very good description of URLs and how they can be used to deceive. You do a great job of simplifying the topic to be understandable by the average computer user. Keep up the excellent content!
Leo, I teach continuing ed classes to people at my community college. It's how to stay safe online. I never thought to teach them how to read a URL. Thanks for the video!
Leo, I watch all your videos and they are very informative, but your explaination of URLs is excellent and I think it was very much needed to help protect less tech-savvy uses well done
Thanks for the info. Would it be a logical conclusion that if you see the %2F in a web address, that they are probably trying to be deceptive and it is probably not the address you think you are going to?
When no address shows on phone.. even legit sites what is solution then.. only advice I find from research is for desktop hover with mouse or right click.. also not possible on mobile phones.. accidental link clicking is also a hazard while trying to verify.. surely smart phones are more where these scam mails arrive and have to be identified.
Why are domain providers allowed to give out domain names that are obviously meant to deceive &/or that contain the names of other legitimate companies.
Thank you for having the patience to explain these things. I used to know most of this stuff, but got away from it some time ago. Seems the same rules still apply from 30 years ago, but things have gotten so deep in $#%*^&÷_ that I just distanced myself from it. Got tired of trying to stay on top of it all, but I still used some aspects for programming machines. Great video!

Thanks for your clarity!👍
Thank you!
Thank you for patiently explaining in a simple and clear way.
Great info and a topic to explore in future videos, domain forwarding and domain aliasing for example.

99.9% certainly. Why would they put three characters in the URL when slash is one.
Thank you. The %2F trick is new one to me. I do some programming in C++ and didn’t connect the two dots. I need to show this to a few other people.
You're such a good teacher.
As usual, your explanations are brilliant.

Thank you! This is a great comprehensive description of how website domains really work.

Another great video Leo. Thanks!
I learned something, thanks Leo
"%2F" - I'm having this tattooed onto the back of my hand.
Until now, no one has been able to hack you!
I type the URL into Virus Total Webb Chrome Extension/Edge add on first!
Thanks sir🎉
