  • This is a quick video on how I drove an estimate of about 1000-5000 miles with overfilled transmission fluid. This truck was bought recently like that used and I honestly do not remember checking to make sure the transmission fluid level was at its precise oil level. So it ended up costing me a lot to fix just because I did not make sure the oil level of the transmission fluid was correct. This is a MUST WATCH video so it will not happen to your car.

I just overfilled mine with at least 4qrts!!! It kept leaking until I drained that out and somehow the leak went away !! First I added another quart thinking I didn’t want the trans running dry !! Then realized it was leaking from the vent!!!

Let me know if you fixed it. Make sure to check the transmission oil level when it is fixed. I do not recall exactly checking the transmission level clearly. It can be a bit confusing checking the transmission level. I might of checked it but my transmission level was wet at a very high over filled level I should of taken the time to take some out. It is important to always check it to make sure. We can all make mistakes.

Hello, My mechanic Overfilled the Transmission fluid to 100C.
I am having Overheating issues when I go over 90KMs.
Also I hear noise when I accelerate ( only after driving few kms )
Oil change guy said there is minor transmission leak.
Is this all because mechanic overfilled Transmission Fluid?

@@cveer9133 if the transmission fluid is Overfilled it will ruin the gaskets just like what happened to my truck. If it is low on transmission fluid you will feel your transmission not go into gear and it will damage your transmission. I noticed it can be a bit confusing to check fluid because the dipstick of the transmission fluid is long and the tube where you add transmission fluid is still dropping in while you are adding fluid. So when you take it out the transmission fluid, the fluid that is dropping into the transmission fluid tube gets caught up onto the dipstick when you take it out. That is my only explanation why it can be confusing to check. At the recommended amount then check it hours later. So all the fluid drops into the transmission fluid. 100C should be the temperature of the transmission that is normal. If your transmission is overheating it might not have transmission fluid. Does the temperature go above 100 C (Celsius)?
