    Just sitting watching beauty unfold and listening to your inspiring voice and heard what you said for the opening of the first page “ made it less precious” OMG! thats the perfect way to tell yourself to USE THE SUPPLIES! It does not make them less beautiful, but starts the creative process when that first blank page is gone… I have a bad habit of turning to page two 😂😂😂! Then beginning…. Like the first page is tooo precious to use. Thank you for this epiphany. Must share it with a friend who freezes in front of blank paper. We are often too scared to “ ruin” the paper… despite painting often I still have to get past that feeling. 🤦‍♀️ ❤❤

      You don't need a sketchbook for this, paper and paint is all you need. I put mine in a sketchbook to see the progress and growth all in one place. Glad you were inspired and hope you give it a try with your favorite book! Check out the course Found & Curated (there is a video about it on my channel), would love to have you join in!

      I’m a bit all over the place with what I’m trying to do so starting yet another sketch book would probably be madness 😉 but that said, I actually made a very small (only 8 sides) concertina book today, using an origami wallet cover. I can’t use it for watercolour, ( wrong paper) but I could use it for sketches etc. so…watch this space. I won’t come up with anything as beautiful as yours though.

    Oh Kelly, I am totally drawn into the beautiful book you shared with us and intend to order it, now! What a find, so much to see in it. Also she grew up in London, same as I did. Seeing what you have created and been inspired by was also a real treat, your book is fabulous. I didn’t want to be so in love with this whole process so that I have to put my name down for your course but I am. The only reason is, I am still struggling to do the last course I signed up for with you. My husband has been in hospital twice in the last month and we have many appointments to keep, not a complaint because we appreciate all the help we get but it doesn’t always leave much time and when it does I don’t always use it as I probably should. Thank you for your inspiring video, I loved it. 😊

      I'm so sorry to hear about your husband. I'm sending thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Lucy's book is one I reach for just because. The arrangements and photography inspires me in the most energetic way. For the course around the concertina sketchbook I will be choosing a different book. I have 5 to decide on this week but am looking for something a little more rounded for a creative and artistic audience.

    Hi…this IS inspiring. Yes, a concertina sketchbook has terrorized me for awhile. It’s sitting on a shelf gathering dust but your suggestion to use a book for inspiration and to pull details from images has me thinking I should attempt it. What kind of texture does that one have? I see it’s 140lb but the picture on Amazon doesn’t quite capture that. Thanks for this video! 🌺

    • @kellyhoernig
      @kellyhoernig  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree, it is frightening but you just have to jump in. Since you already have a sketchbook, you just need to find your inspiration to fill it with. I am getting bolder and having more fun know that I am about halfway through. It is all a process and a practice of creating, you can do it!
