I got a tour of the construction site a few years ago! Great to see it open finally!!!! How does ridership feel like? I am surprised that route 51 has not been terminated at Zuid (I thought they were going to shrink its route since the new line was going to reach centraal)

I was there on Monday July 31 between 17:00 and 19:00. The train wasn't full but there were lots of people using it. I think all the trains I would have gotten a seat if I wanted it. It is nice because the metro trains finally goes north of Centraal Station. Maybe they will shrink M51 in the future. I read in an article that Amsterdam is changing and shortening a lot of bus route to force riders to use the new line, even if the journey may be longer. Amsterdam spent so much money and time (and embarrassment) building this new line that they are forcing people to ride it so the numbers will prove it was necessary.

It is always interesting to watch your excellent videos, which give so much insight
into the various "transportation-scenes" of other countries/cities. I also enjoy the
little details (e.g. duck pond) you occasionally "throw" in ;o) Thanks for your work!

I'm surprised they didn't build it with platform screen doors.

No need when you have a population that acts responsibly. Vancouver has driverless trains and no platform doors. They are handy if you need to air condition the stations though.

The population is probably pretty responsible, no pushing off the platform, or standing on the edge, but of course there might still be a graffiti problem

New York could have this between Bay Ridge and Coop City. Thanks for documenting this new system.
