Im one of those ‘terrible people’ that never like or subscribe. However you autumn are just absolutely beautiful in your vlogs. So raw, real and honestly so genuine. So on this rare occasion I have made sure I liked the video! All the best for the coming months and wish you every success!
I've been watching your channel for couple months. Last year i buy flat and yours renovation was my inspiration. We have the same bedding from Ikea. When I watching your video's my memory's back to time when I lived in Croydon. It's very nice to listening english. Best wishes for you guys from Poland!
My fiancé and I have also been renovating our house (though certainly not a big job as yours) and just giggled when you mentioned that in a big job like that we cant focus on the small bad things or we will go crazy and that you and your boyfriend never argued as much as during that time. Well same with me and my fiancé but we know its a phase, the problem is that I still go crazy with the small things!
Autumn and Tom, thank you for sharing your journey over the past year with us, you’ve had a very hard slog! So happy that this year you will be having an easier time of things, honestly, it would have been less work if you had built a new house from scratch! I look forward to sharing more of your journey this year. 😃
You two have done an amazing job! So fun to watch! I really admire you two! Super stressful as a couple! Keep strong! You are almost home free! What an amazing space! I wish I had a Martin!😅I am excited to see the finishes, and excited to see your bath, kitchen and living room(Lounge) downstairs!
Congratulations on both the renovation and posting the videos and hitting last year's resolution -- I love this channel and I can't wait to see where you take us in 2022!
I've been watching your videos since the very beginning and the progress you have made it's amazing. Not only on the house of course, but also on how much more comfortable you (both) grew in front of the camera. Can't wait to see what's next for you guys!
Thanks so much Giulia - it’s so funny to watch the first couple of months back and see how much we’ve changed. Certainly got used to a camera in our faces now!
We are currently renovating a Victorian ourselves. It's so great to hear from someone else who is experiencing similar challenges and seeing it finally come together. Thank-you for the inspiration.
This is a brilliant record of your year of hard work - do you ever imagine your descendants watching it in a hundred years time? I fully expect they will be! We have watched every single one of your videos and enjoyed them all. Thanks so much for giving us so much vicarious entertainment and a happy new year to you both.
Haha! I have thought about this actually - if we ever have kids we'll definitely be those irritating parents forcing them to watch it amongst other family videos! So glad you've enjoyed the videos so far and that we have been able to bring a little fun to your year. Happy New Year to you too!
Thank you so much for sharing your journey. You are not alone🙂 Me and my partner are going through our second complete house renovation this time with two small kids. But I still very vividly remember our first time doing so. It was so hard and overwhelming: physically and mentally. It took us two years!! You can do it!!!
Wow I am so impressed you are doing it with kids - we barely have the energy to look after ourselves! Good luck with the second Reno and thanks for reminding me there’s light at the end of the tunnel!
2022 is all about the fun stuff... whaaat!🙃 What a great recap video of the year. Both of you should be really proud of yourselves and I hope you take the time to reflect on that. Keep up the great work you're getting closer to FIN
So great to watch all these videos and follow along on the journey- has been so lovely to watch, and you guys have done an amazing job in only a year to get the house to where it is right now! I’m also a first time renovator planning on a small rear extension hopefully this year and we’re just kicking off the process (also permitted development) so would be great to hear a bit about the start of the Reno- sorting out plans with an architect then speaking to structural engineer etc. Thanks so much for everything you’re doing!
Wow Autumn , I think once you see what you have actually achieved in a collated video like this it is so much more than you think.I love your style of filming, editing .I much prefer to see the rawness and progression than so much of the process being cut out. After all this is what it's about.I would love to see more of your life as well but appreciate this is your life at the moment.I loved your Egypt vlog for example and look forward to seeing more of these when you hopefully start your travels. You should be so proud of yourselves.Happy New year to you both.xx
I think I've been watching your videos since day one and it's so amazing to see the progress you guys have made! Thank you for being so real about the renovation process and not only showing the highs. Wishing you both the best of luck in 2022 :)
You guys have worked so hard and it's well and truly paid off! Congrats for everything you've achieved so far - can't wait to see more fruits of your labour as the renovations continue.
Watching that back was SO crazy to us - the reason we did it was that with the existing height we wouldn’t get enough headroom for building regs. Therefore if we ever went to rent or sell the house we legally couldn’t advertise the 2 new rooms and so the value of the house would be much lower. Soooo a pretty painful process at the time but DEFINITELY worth it!
Awwww what a lovely look back on everything you have all achieved, I have been here since day one and it made me feel very proud seeing this. Looking forward to everything that is coming in 2022, can’t wait for the downstairs to be started
Very good resume and I will continue watching your videos for sure in 2022. I like your video editing. You should have like 10 times more subscriber. So Good videos and you really see all the hard work you are doing. Many thanks and greeting from Sweden.
Just joined today. Binge watching. Your videos are easy and fun to follow. You seem to make grounded and realistic decisions, I think. Since I never renovated on this grandparents scale. Looking forward to more!
I have absolutely loved your channel from beginning to end. You are both inspirational and deserve the most beautiful end result. Congratulations on a NYR well and truly accomplished xxx
Great year in review Autumn (and Tom!). Your videos have been our Wednesday after work staple for many months now! Each upload is engaging and shows both the amount of work involved and how much has been achieved…it’s easy watching too. (Lots of boring renovations/narration out there but this isn’t one of those) Ps: audio issue between 21:23 and 22:05 when sound is lost but thankfully…you come back 🙂
Thank you Mr Coles - so glad to be a part of your Wednesdays! And thank you so much for the kind words 😊 Oops - not sure how I managed that, but thank you for letting me know!! Let me check if I had add an audio clip once it's already uploaded to TH-cam. Have a great evening!
I've been with you since September and I cant say how excited I am for your year ahead, I'm sure it will have its stuggles but I know you have the strength to keep going! 😊
It’s amazing to see how far you’ve come, you and Tom have honestly been a huge inspiration for me while I’ve been doing my own reno. Can’t wait for the decorating videos! 🖤🖤🖤
Hi Autumn, Great progress! I’ve been watching your videos for a couple of months and you guys have inspired me a lot. Hoping to buy my first property in the next 2 years! Would you consider making a video on the process of buying a house? Like was it hard to get a mortgage? What percentage deposit you had and how much were the taxes and fees?
Amazing effort guys! I've been watching from video 1 and I'm always blown away by your resilience haha. It's nice looking back and seeing how far you've come and what the house looked like at the start. My partner finds it so tressful looking back on our reno from day 1 and seeing all the mess again haha i hope it doesn't feel that way for you!
Thank you Emma! There’s certainly times that looking back I wonder how we managed, but luckily, rather than stressed, I just feel like we’ve it makes me feel like we’ve achieved so much! Also helps me to look back at this when it feels like we are making no progress, as it’s the collection of small steps that makes a change! Hope you’re reno is going well (or you’re enjoying the finished product if you’re done!!)
Congrats on one year! What was the issue with your tiler? Random question, how much did your full house rewire cost? It's getting closer to the top on my to-do list in my renovation ...
Thank you James! There were just a few issues with the gaps not being quite equal (something I now try to ignore while showering). a couple of areas he completely missed and him basically flooding our chipboard (while making adhesive) and then going home without cleaning it up 😂 But now the tiles are grouted its all much less noticeable! Our rewire was very, very cheap as we luckily had a family friend who was able to do most of it for us, and we hires someone for a couple of odd days when they weren't available. As with all of the jobs we didn't know costs on, do a bunch of googling (the average I've seen is £3.5k for a 3 bed house) but in London the numbers can vary MASSIVELY. Also reach out to quite a few different electricians to try to get some numbers as well, pretty soon you'll weed out the crazily high (and low!) figures and find an average.
1) Fortunately we had a van already - this definitely was a massive help throughout the process. 2) we bought tools new and secondhand. As we were doing most of the work ourselves, we were saving LOADS on labour so was able to invest in tools. 3) We had the Scaffolding for about 3 months - they took forever to come take it down but we paid a fixed fee for it.
What a year!! Let me know what you'd like to see from us in 2022 below 👇
you are soo welcome. parabens!

Hahah even giving the videos a watch is amazing support! Thanks so much for your kind works and so glad you are enjoying the journey xxx
You are a great presenter. You speak naturally and quickly and exciting. Very easy to watch. X
Bravo! I reckon renovation is harder than building a new house but you've learnt so much you can take those skills forward for the future 👏👏
Yes we have learnt a TON along the way - more than we thought we ever would

If you spray the wallpaper with water with a little fabric softener in it on the walls first and let it set a bit, it comes off a lot easier.
Thanks for the tip! This worked a treat and made the house smell nice haha
@@FeedbyAutumn you are very welcome and glad it worked for you!

It's been a pleasure following you as you may have gathered by the number of comments I've left. Rock on 2022
Haha we love to have you here Jules! Hope you had a brilliant Christmas and the renovation is going well xxx
When you put it altogether it is WILD!!! What a year, proud of you both

20.42 rockwool-is it soundproofing or insulation?
We’ve used it for soundproofing but it does have insulation properties too!
